I fully agree wth what Nate had to say about Angulo.

Any fighter worth his salt would have exposed his lack of speed, or if they had an unusual style, they would have beat him. Mayorga, who has one of the most unusual styles in the history of boxing, would have ripped Angulo to shreds.

Mayorga will batter Angulo if/when they fight.

Not sold on Angulo's power, handspeed or chin. Taking 6 rounds to get rid of career LWW Rivera is not a good sign, especially when he hit him as much as he did.

If he can survive Kirkland for five/six rounds he may be able to get to him in the later rounds, but all the top JMW's would beat him, and to put him in with Mayorga is crazy??? Mayorga recently extended Shane Mosley, and many think he did enough up to round 12 to be a deserved points winner.

Mayorga gets put down by snappy, fast punches and has only been stopped by some of the greatest boxer/punchers of the past 10 years (trinidad, DLH, Mosley) and whilst an 'opponent' for those guys, would have a field day against Angulo.

Only my opinion though, and Angulo is a fighter I enjoy watching nonetheless.

First, it wasn't Nate who said anything about Angulo, it was Don King's son..
Second, I may agree that Mayorga would have made for a better fight but Angulo would have taken him in the later rounds.

I think angulo looked pretty good. Getting cut in the first round then knocking out a guy that had only been knocked out once before in his entire career.

He could work on his speed and he does throw some wide punches.

I agree. Mayorga would have beaten his ass. I wasn't impressed with Angulo I'd pick Spinks, Forrest, Santos and Sergi as well as most of the top 10 at 154 to beat him.

Looks like Kirkland is the more talented one after all. Angulo isn't that great and mayorga would have made him his *****.

It would have been a damn good fight. Call Angulo slow, but he places his shots well and sits down on pretty much everything he throws. I expected Mayo to get ground down late in a barnburner, and given his actions pulling out of the fight, I wonder if he didn't also.
