wattup san rafael :good hmmm... i see your point of view, though i must admit im not delving as deep into it as you are, i do believe that nate was seeing spots in his eye and panicked (as would i, your vision is one of the most precious gifts one has) I think Nate wanted the fight stopped... of course. And i think he was right in doing so if he felt his vision was at immediate jeapordy. Im not quite sure what the arguments are in this as i havnt been following too closely, but my take is simple.... he was afraid for his eyesight, or losing the fight because he couldnt see out of that eye or seeing spots as he says, and wanted the fight stopped before it could go to the scorecards, and i think he did the right thing. I think its unfair to nate to assume he quit because he knew in round 3 that he was going to lose the fight... or didnt want to fight anymore, and used the cut as an excuse when he was fine.... i give nate the benefit of the doubt. I see both sides... but to me, i dont really care enough to take a side on this, i just simply see it for what it is, to me... and that is nate wanting to get his eye checked out, and wanting the fight stopped before it could go to the cards and so he wouldnt have to fight on with an injured eye. Theres nobody on this board who loves warriors more then me, and that warrior mentallity, but there are certain injuries to me that im not going to complain when the fighters choose to quit on... and real eye injuries as in having to do with the actual eyeball... are one. but like i said, im giving nate the benefit of the doubt in believing him...
The doctor had no way of telling if Nate was lying. The injury was impossible to confirm by looking at his eye with no instrument. He stopped it 100% because of what Nate said. It didn't turn out to be much, but it could have been based on what Nate said. And what Nate said is in agreement with what the injury was.
That's bull eze. Cotto keep trying to take the blood out of his eyes with his gloves in mostly every rounds vs Clottey in which it's very dangerous to fight like that but again Cotto prove he's got a warriors heart while Campbell didn't show it. You know what i find it funny eze, didn't Campbell own cutman even said Nate could see and that he can wipe the blood? And what did Nate say "I CAN'T SEE!!! STOP THE FIGHT" In which Campbell didn't even let his cutman work the cut at all.
So he looked at Nates eye and said he had blood behind it. But he said it because Nate said he couldn't see/ seeing spots? It didn't turn out to be much? You're an eye doctor(going to school).. he could of lost all the vision if he fought on, no?
I love some of the armchair warriors in here. Look, if Nate thought he was losing vision or felt something strange, like Kirk said, he could well have panicked, like anyone would at the thought of being blind. Not only are you then blinded in an eye but his career is over. That's a pretty serious thing to think about and have to decide what to do that quickly.
So his own cornerman can see through nates eyes and knows he can see? The corner man thought he couldn't see because of the blood that's why they were wiping his face. EDIT - Like onepunch said internal eye issue.
Are you truly a complete fuking idiot, or just pretending? Nate had an INTERNAL eye injury in addition to the cut. Is that so hard for your tiny brain to comprehend? Neither Cotto or Diaz had an internal eye injury. You are comparing apples to oranges.
If you believe Nate (which i do) it had nothing to do with the cut... it had to do with behind his eye/actual eyeball... seems people arent realising what was wrong with him... when he said he couldnt see, its not because the cut was so bad. Cuts around your eyes, and the blood dripping in your eye making it hard to see, is differant then getting retina damage, nerve damage, hemorrhages ect, in your eye. which nate claims was behind his left eye... there is no comparison to a cut, which nate himself says hes fought through worse cuts. i dont know, it comes down to if you believe nate or not... and i do. and also, like i said... injuries such as retina tears, nerve damage, and hemorrhages should be handled a bit differantly then things like cuts, imo.
Cotto had bloods going into his eyes so don't give me "apples and orange" and blah blah blah bull****. I bet Cotto cut in his left eye was worse then Campbell but again did Cotto quit? Hell no. Campbell didn't even let the doctors work with the cut at all in which shows Campbell took an easy way. Campbell was losing the fight in which he look old and slow so the only way Campbell can make sure he won't lose officially is quit before the start of the 4th round to rule a no contest cause of clash of heads.
IT WASN'T ABOUT THE CUT RAY. Pretend the cut doesn't exist. Nate had an EYE injury. Nate could have lost his vision for the rest of his life had he fought on. His corner told him he could see because they thought it was the blood in his eye that he couldn't see.
I don't believe Campbell at all. The man imo took the easy way out. He knew he was going to lose in which imo Bradley look like he was on his way to an easy victory. So the only way Nate can make sure he won't lose officially is to have rule a no contest cause of clash of heads.
So the doctor in the ring states he has blood behind the eye. He goes to the hospital, they tell him he has a vitreous hemmorrage. And he took the easy way out? Are you serious Ray? Come the **** on. He had an eye injury, a possible retina tear. He didn't know, he just was seeing spots. Or are you saying the doctor lied, and so did the hospital? Or Nate never went to the hospital?
I have always like Nate Campbell. I hope he finally gets justice. The damned referee should be suspended. Video does not lie, but ref sure did! Those who wanted Nate to lose his eye should be ashamed.
