Reminds me of your Boy Paul in a way...actually a lot in my opinion. Ali is a force at 135! He'll beat most if not all. Nate did what he had to do....but damn if it was not a close call.

Nah...he saying that MENTALLY it ****ed with Ali b/c Funeka DOES have power and pop....knowing that as a fighter and landing on your oponent who takes it all in strike all the while saying "is that all you got" can **** with ones head. I got what he was saying.

Defense! There were few punches that Ali acatually landed FLUSH b/c of Nate's Defense during the course of the fight.

What P4PDaBest obviously means is that if someone has great power NO ONE can take their shots.

    Which is bull****.

Funeka felt he could take Nate out, hit him with some great shots, yet Nate kept walking through it. Doesn't mean that Funeka has poor power, just means, on the night, even some massive shots couldn't dislodge Nate.

I think Nate is almost bigging up his own heart and chin rather than trying to take anything away from the power of Funeka.

I actually think Funeka has good power...GREAT??? Like KT or Ed Velaro....no. But he can put a guy to sleep if he lands flush. Nate was just the savvy vet who knew how to cover up effectively like a Winky Wright and still get off his own offense. There were very few flush shots landed on Nate aside from the jab that would split the guard or some body shots under the elbows.

    Just rewatched that second round.

Yeah Nate doesn't have one-shot power, but Funeka is a TOUGH dude to have survived and fought on.

Funigga will be a nice fighter at 135 if he continues to fight out of South Africa. I think with 135 sort of emptying out (Pac, JMM and Nate are all going elsewhere) you'd have to imagine Formega will be up there with Juan Diaz, Valero, Katsidis and Casa at the head of the division.

Trust me, Valero doesn't have GREAT power at all, otherwise it woudn't have taken him ten rounds to get rid of Mosquera.

Julian Jackson knocked out decent opponents with clean hits. And knocked them out.

Wilfredo Gomez sparked out genuine World class performers, out cold. Humbled fellow K.O machine Zarate and forced his cornermen to step in.

Valero is just hype. He wings in his punches, and whilst heavy handed, isn't the next coming of Danny Lopez, Julian Jackson or Wilfredo Gomez.

I think he'd struggle to knock out the likes of David Diaz, Katsidis and Funeka. Hell, I think he'd struggle to beat them, and against at least two of them, would struggle himself not to get knocked out.

I STILL haven't seen Pitalua fight (and I thread I started requesting anyones help with finding the Santa Cruz fight remains unasnwered with no replies) but I've got an inkling that Pitalua will win just from looking at his record. Better than anyone Valero has faced thus far, which makes me certain he will lose, as it's clear to see as soon as he fights someone decent he will lose. The man is a joker in terms of fighting skills.

Ed has ICED guys....not sure how good their chins are but still...to put a guy to sleep...not just **** their world up to where they can't get up...but SLEPT! That's saying something especially if you do that more than 10 times in a 20 fight career. Now with Vincent Mosquera....that was a step up in comp.....and going the rounds proved that Ed was a bit raw himself. I still believe ED has got some major power. Sure I'll reserve my final verdict once he actaully faces someone like JMM, PAC or even a guy like Guzzy but I think his power is definilty there.

It's all about what level his opposition is. When he is KOing these cats he's able to catch them with some WIDE looping Haymakers....most of his punches are NOT STRAIGHT down the pipe caving in their skulls....it's the punches that you don't see! Hence the wide, looping shots that he's able to land on lesser foes. Julian had some unreal power! He would land straight shots that his oppoents would see coming at 'em in slow mo' and that' would be the last thing they'd remember before being scrapped up from the ring...that is some REAL power to say the very least.

Man Edwin Valero's fight against Pitalua is going to be pretty big on ESB. Some of the opinions/expectations on this match will be pretty wild.
