i didnt say that no.1 should fight no.2 in my definition. i said that the belt is won and lost in the ring, they cant just strip casa and give it to nate. I would like casa to fight him so that the no.1 can be decided. there just isnt a clear no.1 in the division whilst this is happening. plus robbie peden beat him twice and was like a sparring partner in his fight with MAB and he knocked him out big time when he fought nate. My point is that he is declaring he will b fighter of the yr but wont really cos of golden boy...... wel seriously, if he fights mandatories e.g. khan then he wont b fighter of the yr. but if he fights the winner of pac and diaz, and another top fight he will b up there. but he wont. i bet you he will fight his WBO mandatory, and i dont mean the interim champ i mean khan or peterson. i think belts are overrated and tryin to keep them is almost impossible these days. its happenin to wlad as we speak.

You didn't have to say it, it is the ring magazines rules! lol here they are in case you have forgotten or didn't know the rules to the "precious" ring belt.

    ****************************************************
    RATINGS AND CHAMPIONSHIP POLICY

Fighters recognized as champions by The Ring are rated at the top of their division, with the top 10 contenders listed below.

Championship vacancies can be filled by winning a box-off between The Ring’s number-one and number-two contenders, or, in certain instances, a box-off between our number-one and number-three contenders.

The only three occasions when a fighter will lose his championship status are when he retires, moves to another weight division, or is defeated in a championship bout.

The Ring Ratings are compiled by the magazine’s editorial board, with the participation of The Ring Ratings Panel of boxing journalists from around the world. Click

Nate is the number #1 Lightweight in the eyes of the ring after Joel Casamayor. Here is their ratings

    C
    JOEL CASAMAYOR
    36-3-1 (22)

    1
    NATE CAMPBELL
    32-5-1 (25)

    2
    DAVID DIAZ
    33-1-1 (17)

    3
    JUAN DIAZ
    33-1 (17)

    4
    JOSE SANTA CRUZ
    25-3 (14)

    5
    JULIO DIAZ
    34-4 (25)

    6
    MICHAEL KATSIDIS
    23-1 (20)

    7
    AMIR KHAN
    17-0 (13)

    8
    YURI ROMANOV
    21-2 (14)

    9
    ZAHIR RAHEEM
    29-2 (17)

    10
    ANTHONY PETERSON
    26-0 (19)

Nate Campbell's WBO manadatory is Joel Casamayor that is why Nate is pushing for that fight so hard to show everyone he is the best in the division. And if niether of them have fights lined up for sure then why not fight each other. Campbell already stated he would do a 50 - 50 split with him.

As far as Campbell losing to Peden by KO, fighters learn from thier mistakes. What makes a champion great is coming back from adversity. Vernon Forest Bounced back from his ko from Mayorga and is now considered the best in his division. Also Manny Pacquiao has been ko-ed in his career as well and has bounced back pretty good don't you think? You can't always hang a ko over a fighters head it just might not have been thier day that day....

first of all you said by MY definition. im not ring magazine. so if your gonna be picky so will I. well, nate must have learnt real good considerin he got stopped by peden twice hey, and twice is no fluke.
good learning from ur mistakes there then.

dont even put nate in the same sentence as sugar shane. thats some one who he has not emulated in any respect, as of yet. i did say i want casa and nate to fight. but i would put money on the khan fight happening or peterson.

i just dont see a CLEAR no. 1 in the lightweight division atm. that is my main point and that is why i dont understand why he mouths off about everyone in boxing when he aint considered an elite fighter or top 10 p4p fighter. he rants and raves but should talk in the ring. oh and he said he beat diaz to within an inch of his life. slight exaggeration as he won by SD.

How can he talk in the ring if no one wants to fight him. I will tell you like this he has tried making the fight Casamayor, Diaz, Marquez and Khan. All the 'top' opposition in the lightweight division. The only one willing to fight him is Marquez but wants to wait till september or november. Once the purse bid for casamayor is over and casamayor vacates he will start making a statement in boxing by fighting someone in July or August.

well i think casa is now fightin marquez (2 golden boy fighters) so it looks like khan will be fightin in june. so he will end up fightin peterson. im dissapointed. but seriously i dont think nate will be there too long. im not impressed with his resume' and his age. okay he did beat a young baby bull but against someone who is quick and a good boxer i think he will meet his match. i think khan would beat him unless nate could test that chin of his to see what its really made of.hey styles make fights (if i had a pound for everytime i heard that :yep )
