I wondered the same thing, but I think its because of his personality and the things he does / says. He's an outspoken guy, open and honest guy, and seems to be real -- someone people can relate to.
Actually, its a bit ironic considering the night before, Oscar was on espn live on FNF's talking with Joe and Teddy, and when they asked him which prospect is the one you think will be the next big thing, he said Victor Ortiz. Obviously, GBP must be dissapointed -- not necessarily for Ortiz losing, but how he lost and behavior in the ring and after.
I always liked Nate from the days before he got ko'd Peden. Dude is a class act. He tells it like it is.
I agree, Oscar was putting everything on the line w/this kid promo wise. Was not expected to lose to Maidana last night. Let's see what the next move is, Either Ortiz retires... Or a rematch goes down next. I say a re-due of last night including the John Vs. Juarez fight.
Nate should concentrate on Bradley and hope that Ortiz gives him a chance after Bradley kicks his ass.
