Anyone see the Nate - Cayo fight? Apparantly Nate is is good form again, so I'll go with him over Chop Chop.
Going strictly by the result? Because Cayo is supposed to have looked like absolute **** that night, and was still dominating Nate for the first four rounds before he started gassing and getting hit more. Nate is said to have won on pure heart. Chop never left good form. Matthysse dominated him and Dulorme shut him out, otherwise he's been competitive with absolutely everybody he's been in the ring with going back to Randall Bailey four years ago. (even Freddy Hernandez, by whom he got KTFO cold...Chop was schooling him until he got caught)
A couple of Chop's recent decision losses could have been argued his way. In 2008, '09, '10, '11 and '12 Corley has fought twenty men and gone 8-12. Most were active contenders or prospects with one loss or none. Stiff competition, with only a few exceptions. Only five beat him convincingly: Matthysse, by destruction, worst beating of Corley's career. Dulorme, still unbeaten, whose future some people are very high on. Hernandez, raw but powerful, kayoed him cold, can't argue with that. Bailey, brought the pain, dropped him, stunned him many times, kept Chop on the backfoot. Alexander, just threw too much speed and hustle at him. Everyone else at least struggled mightily with him, if not lost a bunch of rounds. Nate been trying to keep his career afloat by going life and death with untested eastern Euro boys. Looked horrible against Garcia, and Ortiz. Nice feather in his cap to upset Cayo on a bad night, if he wants to bow out on a high note the door is open and this may be the last chance he gets - but the man is done at a remotely high level.
