Santa Cruz is like the forgotten man. GBP took his Casa rematch away, and gave Casa to Katsidis as a bone to Samson, to try and sign the kid. But Casa messed them up when he won the fight. lol. Anyways, Santa Cruz is with Golden boy, and after the games they played with us regarding Casa, and now Marquez, I sincerely doubt a Santa Cruz fight could be made. The other problem is that he is only ranked by the WBC, so the WBA/IBF/WBO would all have to approve him as a voluntary defense. So in my opinion, sanctioning body problems + Golden Boy nonsense = no Santa Cruz fight possible.

 

It's a shame a champion who ACTUALLY WANTS TO DEFEND HIS TITLE against the top mandatories/contenders can't get a fight.

Khan is with Frank Warren, and it's no secret that the consensus is that Khan just isn't ready yet. And I actually do not disagree with them. If I was representing Khan, I wouldn't put him in yet with someone like Nate either. The kid has only had what, 17 fights? and against mostly dummies? Give him a chance to mature as a fighter a little. THEN, maybe put him in at this level.

As for Peterson, that fight I believe is do-able. He just signed with Top Rank, and I believe that fight could be made. But right now Casa is still our WBO mandatory, even though he wont fight Nate. So the WBO has to strip Casa, appoint Khan, then let Khan step-aside, and appoint Peterson as our mandatory challenger. As soon as they do all that, we could start negotiating for the fight.

If JMM wants Pac immediate rematch he has to fight Campbell no later than July. If this fight happen in Nov, Pac Probably will be fighting Hatton/DLH in December.
