Nate Campbell was unreal. Juan Diaz should not be underrated because of this.

I don't know about expossed but Campbells body work was very impressive last night. There aren't many fighters who could take that and not wear down.

 

Did you see his face as well? His eye? That was more of the reason IMHO then body shots.

And I'm not saying he didn't get hurt on the body. BTW, EVERYONE gets hurt on the body when hit. WHen people say "BLAH BLAH is weak at the body and can be hurt there" I can't help but think "Yeah, that makes him like EVERYONE pro boxer alive in that aspect."

 

I agree. I think Pac is much more versatile fighter than Diaz.

Weak to the body is a relative term. Some fighters out there are much better at taking body shots than others. Tito was killing Roy with hip shots, yet he barely flinched. Castillo hit Lil Floyd with a lot of body shots in their first fight, yet it didn't effect his energy or punch output. Taking body shots is similar to taking head shots; some are just able to take the hits better than others.

 

It was a combination of factors, not just some body blows. There was Campbell walking through everything. That will be discouraging. Diaz's eye, the blood, and yes, the body punches. But hey, if you guys think it was only the body punches that cause him to lose, run with that. Not gonna argue over some guesses.

 

No fighter is worth that amount of talk. You're not a boxing fan, so your opinion on this isn't relevant to me. If a thread is about another fighter, then Pacquiao has no place in the discussion.

 

Another one is the left uppercut on a clinch that Nate keep on landing to Juan. The same punch that Aggravate the cut. Nate keep on saying "all night" coz he's landing it all night.

 

One, Diaz has fought going backwards often. Last night he didn't do it well, but did it fine against other opponents. His opponents often pushed him back throughout the early and mid rounds of a fight, only to get tired and get beaten up. Campbell was getting pushed back early on, and was pushing back himself as well, and Diaz was doing fine. Then the cut and the body shots took their toll.

Two, Diaz usually does set up his head punches and flurries with early body shots. It was ineffective last night.

Last night doesn't suddenly erase what he did in other fights. He was ineffective last night and therefore by default, didn't look good. No matter what he did, Campbell did it better. Simple as that. It's not being exposed, he was just outfought.

Its sad that on this thread that a poster is trying to give an old vet like Nate Campbell his day in the sun for once and all people want to do is make it a Pacquiao love 'em or hate 'em thread. I personally think that on one given night anyone can beat anyone if they want it bad enough and have the right breaks along the way. Campbell got these last night with Diaz having so many issues out of the ring with Willie Savanah causing such a disruption and Shields breaking his foot. Campbell took advantage of this and had a terrific night mainly because of his will to win and also the fact that he obviously had trained harder for this fight than any other in his career. Congrats to Campbell!!! I think as a boxing fan we should appreciate what happened last night as being one of the better parts of boxing that you don't see that often that makes the sport so great. A grizzled old vet making a last stand and coming away with a huge upset.

It seems to me that people who are such huge fans of a certain fighter than they are not able to actually appreciate the sport and admit that on any given night any fighter can lose, including their own favorite fighter. Just because someone states that a great perfomance by a fighter means they could have beaten anyone on that night does not diminish the greatness or skills of your favorite fighter for gods sake!!!

So to all the nuthggers out there of any fighter- grow up and enjoy the sport not just your favorite fighter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Diaz is pushed backwards, and everyone tries, he just keeps throwing. Last night it was ineffective. Campbell going to the body of course effected this. Most fighters are incapable of sustaining that attack.

And by often, I was simply saying that he has done it enough that you can't say he "can't do it".

One, YOU said you were a Pacquiao fan first and that the only reason you watch boxing is because of him. When Pacquiao leaves, so will you. You are not a boxing fan. If Pacquiao was a horse jockey, you would be a horse racing fan.

Fact: Last night you predicted two fights wrong, I only got one wrong.

Fact: The only two times we have argued over the outcome of a fight, you were wrong and I was right. Soto-Guzman and Klitscho-Ibragimov.
