What would make him a "somebody" to you? He's not some top of the food chain competitor, but as far as guys go that can be in the spot light and perform and speak he sure knows a hell of a lot more about martial arts than most of the rest, and knows a hell of a lot more than 99% of the fans watching. Goldberg is the truly horrible one of the two; he's a shameless company man and uses the most annoying and ridiculous words, sometimes incorrectly. He also know **** all about combat sports, except I guess he overheard a guy at a MT class mention a teep and now every time anyone throws a front kick he has to yell "TEEP!". They should really get an actual pro doing it and not him.

Oh, and it was a close fight but Diaz didn't really DO anything but land pitter patter punches. Maynard landed the harder shots and staggered Diaz a couple times. They both looked like **** and neither should be too happy about their performance.

Being a successful competitor/trainer/coach in any full contact martial practice would be a good start.

And if you say Taekwondo Im going to vomit.

I cant believe that article is trying to make it sound like Machida beat Shogun.

Well, I'm not that much of a fan of Rogan as a whole (I actually don't like his comedy that much or the fear factor stuff, just where he calls out joke thieves and such) but he has had a lot of experience in an array of martial arts, most specifically BJJ at a very good school which allows him to comment very technically on the part of UFC fights that is most opaque to the average viewer. A lot of the guys that are fighters or trainers may know more than he does but not be able to perform as well on camera or know at what pace to comment on the fight.

And what's your beef with his TDK stuff? Was the stuff he did in TDK not the "right" kind of TDK or something? He certainly doesn't hold that experience up as his main area of expertise, so what does it matter?

He still comes off as an idiot in my opinion.

    he said

""I made my living with Tae Kwon do, and I will be the first person to tell you it's an almost useless martial art. When I first started kickboxing I quickly realised 99% of TKD is absolutely useless""

here you can read my description of joe rogans misleading taekwondo history

Rogan's TKD credentials aren't good enough for you? I understand if his opinions about TKD are offensive but he did have a very legit TKD career right? Please explain.

He is also a brown belt in BJJ under Bravo I think.

I know the timing of posts was off, but you can read the thread I linked in the post above.

He did not have a legit tkd career, although people might like to have you think so. Please read through that thread, because actually the kind of small-time mixed rules scam of a tournament he won would be most likely to decieve people on the nature of Taekwondo internationally.

I love the fact that Machida is acting as thought Rogan had something to do with the fan backlash after his title defense even though it seemed like the whole live arena was booing the decision!
