Potential fight of the year who do you think wins? There isn't many fights that promise to be as big or guarantee the drama and fireworks that this fight and the lead up would have. Masvidal is in prime and the better fighter of the 2 at the moment, the 1st odds i've seen are closer then I thought but come fight time Masvidal we will be a decent size favorite but Nate is more then capable of an upset and will probably prefer a 5 round fight to show his better cardio and ability to take and overcome damage. I'm glad to see Masvidal finally began fulfilling the potential with his recent success in large part due to becoming more aggresive, with his previous coasting style clearly not looked upon favorably by the judges who robbed him a few times. Nate after 3 years away showed little ring rust looking better then ever against Pettis,I just hope Colbys influence doesn't force Mavidal to revert to the boring spoiling tactics the other top guys have used successfully to negate and take Nate down at every opportunity
I agree with you about being glad to see Gamebred capitalize on his natural talent. He's always had his fights where he looked devastating. Even back in Strikeforce he looked amazing against KJ Noons, and later he demolished guys like Michael Chiesa Ross Pearson. But he always had a tendancy to cruise during the moments where he should have accelerated. It's always kind of frustrating to see a guy with apparently elite skills getting mediocre results (losing fights he could have won decisively by being outworked). Concerning Masvidal vs. Diaz: TOUGH fight for Nate. I think Masvidal has the boxing skill to time Diaz's quirky head movement. I think Diaz keeps himself competitive by throwing in high volume when Masvidal is sitting back, and he may get an opportunistic takedown, but I think Masvidal generally controls the fight by drilling Nate with shorts that have far more impact and authority.
He can and will do what he wants and my comments were in regards to being for the sake of a good fight which we all want and will likely get due to it generally not being Masvidals style or strength. I'm always up front about fighters i'm a fan of or any bias I may have 1 way or the other but unlike you I don't let my personal feelings interfere with my fight analysis our how i score fights, which is 1 of many reasons why my knowledge and analysis etc of boxing/MMA and ability to score fights will always be far greater then yours.
I'm not interested in taking part in silly petty arguments with you that nobody else wants to see and which haven't been working out to well for you lately, especially considering how you keep telling me how good a massdebater you are
Its funny that all it takes is one win for Diaz against a guy like Pettis who loses every time he steps up and all the Diaz fan boys come out of the wood work claiming that he is some elite fighter who can take anyone LOL
Please don't waste my time if you just going to keep repeating issues I have told you that your guilty of. Are you and Midniteprowler the sites new double team repeating each others ridiculous opinions and insults any time I post
For starters Diaz is 3-1 in his recent fights which some people think should be 4-0 and if Pettis always loses when he steps up, how did he beat the number 2 welterweight Wonderboy in his previous fight who was last guy to beat Masvidal and how did Pettis win the WEC and UFC titles when he stepped up ?
Exactly. Pettis is totally done. I made it clear on here that this would be a very easy and dominant fight for Nate despite the layoff. Pettis has had nothing left at the top level other than occasional flash for years now. Some deluded fanboys though he was back after finding lightning in a bottle against Wonderboy. If that fight happened again I'd pick Wonderboy again without a seconds hesitation. As for Nate his fans will whine like little girls when Nate loses and claim that they really lost because they didn't fight his fight LOL. It's sad. Diaz groupies have been among the worst fanbases in the sport for quite some time now.
