I don't know what was on Melvin's mind with that TD. He was doing just fine on the feet and would have kept winning there. It's like he gave it away.
Anyone who has seen the two fight multiple times knew the fight would go down almost exactly as it did. I had absolutely no doubt in my mind that Diaz would eventually submit him, though he'd take plenty of big shots and likely get dropped a few times in the process. Guillard is just too stupid and Diaz just too determined.
Diaz only chance to win that fight was by sub and it's like Melvin said "look, take my neck". Very fustrating to watch because I'm always rooting for him. I didn't expect Melvin to beat Gleison Tibau in his last fight but he did and Tibau is a black belt. I really thought Melvin was gonna handle Diaz because he's nowhere near as big or as strong as Tibau. And he was winning until that dumbass TD and fell into that guillotine:-(
Nate Diaz has got to have the weakest standup in MMA, yet he manages to pull out the wins with his amazing subs..he's like a modern day Royce Gracie. Mad Props, one of my favorite fighters.
As always it'd "**** the Diaz brothers!" from you guys but you know I'm a big fan. So keep rockin' on, Diaz brothers. ****in' guys find a way to win.
