It be a case of throwing Clev in too deep and too soon.

He would probaly put up a brave effort and start well for the opening rounds but over the course 12 rounds I think he would find himself in too deep.

He would get stopped and that would ruin him as a fighter - ruin his confidence , etc

Give him another 2 years before he can think about tackling the real best in the World.

He is only 22 by the time he is 24 / 25 years old - like Kevin Mitchell is now - then he will be ready as he ever will be.

Pascals on the brink of P4P so its too early to think of him and Clev. Clevs work needs ALOT of refining first.

Pascal is completely overrated just because Froch made him look great in a 'war'. He's a decent world level fighter, he's no destroyer. Diaconu is a complete plodder and did fairly well in the rematch, Cleverly has more to his armoury provided he can take a punch which is something we've yet to be able to conclude.

I agree, some on here think he beats Dawson which just completely baffles me. He's good but if you've got big aspirations he's the type who needs to be beaten.

:good It's basically because Froch made him look quite good people think he's amazing. Do they think he's great for beating Diaconu? Unlikely, nobody really rated Diaconu after his struggles with lower top 10 fighter Chris Henry.

But the thing is, Froch has the ability to make anybody world class look quite good for a few rounds. The guy is bemusingly slow for a top fighter and easily hit. Sometimes it takes a while for him to impose his style on a fight. And when he did he beat Pascal 8-4, a guy like Froch beat a guy that is supposed to be a top class boxer 8 rounds to 4 and he did it with his jab. That shouldn't happen if you are this p4p fighter people talk about. Damn sure wouldn't happen to Dawson.

Cleverly needs a couple of years to fill out though I reckon. He can definitely get stronger just looking at his frame.

    Clev for me.

If Pascal struggled with Froch's reach he'll have nightmares with Nathan, I also think Cleverly has a decent chin.

Pascal not on the same level as Dawson imo

Man against Boy type fight...the boy looks good...likes and fancies a tear up but when the going gets tough the man lays the beatdown on the young buck. Give Clev time to fill out and refine his skills and then we can talk about him beating Pascal. Cleverley's jab would be key but at this time he wouldn't be disciplined enough to not engage in a war with Pascal. Plus Pascal is a good fighter with fantastic speed and movement. To early to fight him.

Pascal has too much experience and fights at a higher level, i doubt clev would pull the victory off for this one

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Cleverly has very good potential but he isn't at Pascal's level.

Think Cleverly is vulerable to short sharp punches inside. He was winding up the punches a bit too much at times last night and Pascal would take advantage.

It's too close for me to call at this point, which means it's DEFINITELY too close for Warren to risk.

I'd like to see cleverly defend the Euro belt in April or May, then fight Karo Murat late this summer. If he beats Murat, it'll move him into contention for any of the 4 major belts, which will possibly allow Warren to go for Braehmer (if he stays out of prison) or the WBA champ.

I'm not sure Cleverly's ready for Pascal or Cloud yet, and definitely not Dawson. But if Johnson beats Cloud, I think that Johnson vs. Cleverly is a fight that Warren would definitely try to make, and I'd give Cleverly a chance with Johnson's age. But i'd much prefer to see Johnson win the title and retire as a champion.
