One can only imagine the sense of pride he must be feeling right now.

    Still, it worked for Lennox.

This is Bull****, this is why boxing is killing it's self, you should only win a world title in the ring after beating the champion, I am sure cleverley would rather do it that way, they have taken away what could have been cleverley's greatest memory winning his first world title in front of thousands of people, the belt being put round his waist after, the Interview, the press, the pride and the glory, instead he will get a knock on the door this morning from parcel express. " Could you sign for this Sir, it's from the WBO.

Yeah, British, Commonwealth, European and World Champion without facing a champion. I don't think it's the way he would have wanted to do it, he seems a decent lad and will know that to be considered genuine he will probably need to look towards unifications.

Could this be the shortest reign in history if Bellew sparks him?

    Absolutely.

This is nothing against Clev by the way I like the guy but it's a terrible way to win a title. Especially when all things considered, Braehmer was hardly a proper champion anyway but to be 'declared champion' outside of the ring takes away the glory and memory of actually winning a belt (even if the belt is diluted to mean almost nothing).

I can see Cleverly just defending this title at home for years now against bums Joe Calzaghe style. Shame really, kids got talent.

there is a sudden spate of apathy towards nathan on these boards, and i have to wonder if its because bellew is english and that's "better" than welsh.

at the end of the day nathan earned this shot and the champ decided not to fight that isnt clevs fault.

Bellew is getting a freebie shot he in no way has earned and good luck to him but i will be cheering for Nathan on saturday night

People are annoyed at the situation, not Cleverly. He gets a good reception in England.

Warrens fighting have a history of being gifted Vacant WBO World titles.

Its the reason Warren has had so many World Champions over the last 15 years.

I'm sure Cleverly is the most upset. You dont train your heart out for the WBO to just give you a title?

There is no way that Clev will face any of the top 175ers in the near future

He will be spoonfed mismatched opponents for years & we will probably have to pay £15 to watch them

More likely that Bellew posts on here and seems an OK bloke. Other than the "maths degree" theres not much to really been built up about Cleverly TBH.
