More like an educated guess based on Fwank's past history, sadly.

Please explain how I'm slaughtering the guy. I may well be critical of FW, the WBO, and Sky Sports but at no point have I attempted to criticise Nathan Cleverly. Or Tony Bellew for that matter.

    Come off it C-Pole. :nono:nono

You use to slag of - Dream Team Enzo - Calzaghe & Maccarinelli partnership.

And they were heavily tied in with FW, Vacant WBO titles and Sky Sports.

Maybe I did (probably to wind you up more than anything!), but this discussion isn't about them, is it?

If boxing titles are to be granted in offices as opposed to boxing rings, that's not a fighter's fault, (and I never said it was, either), but let's just call the fighter a "WBO Titleist", rather than patronising them with the moniker "World Champ".
At least that is until a satisfactory defence against a highly (world) rated opponent can be achieved.

But these days we know you can make a career out of being a bogus world champion - without fighting anyone in the top 30.

Frank Warren has produced them time and time again.

And that's not fair on Cleverly, because he's not a bogus fighter.

Its not as if the WBO 175 belt had that much credibility to lose prior to Braemher getting stripped. Hopefully Saturdays winner can use it as a useful stepping stone to bigger things.

Well when the champion doesn't intend to turn up for any of his fights and pulls out in the week of yet another title fight what is supposed to happen?!? Cleverly was gutted more than anything, but fairplay to Bellew for turning into a now more appealing occasion for British fight fans at least. All genuine fighters want to win their belts in the ring. What had to happen after this latest pull-out is Braehmer being stripped. It is then just a moot point as to whether Cleverly is installed as the champ having already fought for the interim version and chased the champion for the last year, or it is made vacant and up for grabs on saturday. Cant argue with the outcome either way.

If Cleverly is be declared "Champ", then fine, yeah, whatever. However, I do think the WBO are letting themselves down a bit if they call Saturday's fight a title defence. Should a challenger ranked at 15 in the ratings get a title shot? :think
