Nathan Cleverly V Bad Chad Dawson: Whats The Outcome?

I miss the Dawson outpoits him option. :bart
And I was one of the guys who called it for Pascal pre fight.

He is very good, but he wouldn't put so much leather on Dawson. I was afraid he would punch himself out last night and he has to make ajustments to fight higher level opponents.

cleverly stops dawson late on. dawson is now an exposed american hype job and cleverly throwing 100 punches a round would overwhelm him. this fight wouldn't even be close and its my only hope that dawson can win back a title so the fight could be made in future.

however, cleverly may have to make a few adjustments and has few things to learn before he takes on any of the light heavyweight champions out there.

Dawson by UD or late stoppage. Cleverly is the goods but he isn´t there yet. His defence has huge holes. Murat himself was only a prospect not an established contender. He fought the frong fight was too tight and timid, and couldn´t see the holes in Cleverly´s defence and didn´t let his hands go. Dawson is on a whole other level. Cleverly needs to work on his defence. I say he is ready in about a year if he fights a few times. His next goal should be Brähmer, he can beat him and it would be a good experience fighting an experienced contender.

 

Cleverly isn't ready for someone like Dawson

Is Dawson overhyped? Yes

Is he a hypejob? No

We know he should have been much better against Pascal.. And it's a big possibility he could beat Pascal in a rematch.

I'm not overly excited by Cleverly yet, want to see him step up his opposition first to see where he's at..

After watching Dawson's defeat to Pascal you have to say that Cleverly could get a result here.

Dawson appears to have stagnated a bit but I'm not writing him off either.

Cleverly, imo, is maybe another 18 months to 2 years off from fighting the likes of Cloud, Pascal, Dawson etc.

I'd give him Johnson next then go for Braehmar. After that a couple of easy, home coming defences before moving onto America.

If Cleverly was to win his next 2 fights against the opponents I suggested, then no one can grudge him a couple of tune up fights, he would have deserved it.

Anybody who thinks that cleverly would beat dawson is absolutley lacking in knowledge of the game.

There isnt even a remote possibility oif this happening.

I like clev andhe has potential but he needs further time to develop against one or two past it titlists at supermiddle or light heavy to see how much resolve he has at high level.

In two years it will be a bigger possibility.
