Listening to the crowd, its obvious Degale is about as much loved as a fart in a spacesuit.

Both DeGale's British title and Groves' Commonwealth title (more prestigious; the Commonwealth referring to all former parts of the British empire) are on the line.

I think DeGeale is surprised by the booo's from the crowd.

    They weigh an ounce apart.

On the tape they are pretty evenly matched overall. DeGale has looked better as a pro, but Groves got the better of him in the amateurs.

    Intriguing match!

Hopefully Kermit Cintron doesn't LEAP into the ring and ruin this

Wait, Jimmy Lennon Jr. just said one of the sponsors for this event is the Earl of Sandwich.

They still have Earls of Sandwich? :blood

    OH NO!

    Howard Foster is the ref!!!!

He is the one responsible for the REPREHENSIBLE travesty in Dolan vs. Maxwell just yesterday on the Pryce-Rabchenko undercard. :patsch

Very nice opening round. DeGale looks very sharp.

    Round 1

DeGale is hovering his right jab out ahead of himself. Groves is taking wide steps to the left and chopping his own jab cautiously. Here's a right hand from Groves and some hyperactive movement on the outside, reacting to nothing without DeGale even feinting. Very nervous energy. DeGale is backing Groves up with his right jab and gets in a couple of body taps when they tie up. Groves comes leaping in with a left hook that lands. DeGale takes it well. More jabs from DeGale.

Not a lot in it, cautious opener.

    10-9 DeGale
