Nice tense first round. Good stuff, close round, Groves laned a nice left and right in the last 5 seconds.

Classy move there, DeGale, shouldering groves.

19-19 after 2, DeGale got the first, Groves the 2nd.

Does Groves look like DeGale has got in his head?

Whew! Baby! Good stuff going on right now. Groves counted nicely and is looking smooth in there. He won round 2. 1-1.

10-9 Degale Round 1 (Degale used the jab, initiated the action)
10-9 Groves Round 2 (used the ring, countered a bit, Degale seemed content to follow)

Not much in it so far. Of course, not much landing, either.

    Round 2

Groves is overthinking on the outside, waving his fists around in front of his face. DeGale creeps in, right arm held low. GROVES lands a quick trio of straight shots. Another good one a moment later. DeGale slows but does not halt his advance. Groves is hopping around, stopping on a dime and changing directions after every other pace. Groves ducks a right hook and digs in a right to the body. Reaching 1-2 by Groves, just tickles DeGale's forehead. Groves moving all about, popping his left jab and too kinetic for DeGale to get his aim fixed. DeGale warned for headbutts. DeGale paws with his right jab. Clinch. Wild miss by DeGale with the left hand. Groves keeps hurrying around him and opens up with a combo before the bell.

    19-19

29-28 Groves now, should have been a point deduction for that elbow

    Round 3

Groves chops with his jab and throws an overhand right but can't find DeGale with it. DeGale is missing absolutely everything. Elbow to the throat by DeGale!! No warning or anything. Groves is landing his jab and drifting to his left. Nice combo by Groves, finishing with a hook scraping across DeGale's stomach. Slapping right hook by DeGale coming forward. Groves is walked into a corner. Clapping 1-2 by Groves, hitting the back of DeGale's gloves. Groves is hustling. Neither is landing. DeGale is missing. Groves is getting blocked. Lunging lead left by DeGale glances. Right by Groves at the end.

    29-28 Groves
