Gavin pops lone right jabs and much less frequent lead lefts. Mutley does nothing. Gavin decides to get bolder, coming in and doubling a right hook. Mutley is rocked against the ropes with a quick combo. Right jab to the lower lip by Gavin. Mutley falls short with a right hand lead. Gavin back to one at a time jabs. Gavin stays in front of Mutley, watching him from his lean-over and swinging his right arm with the curve of his elbow sticking out as a shield in case Mutley does throw a punch.

Booooring...

Round 6

Gavin is still stuck in second gear, flipping up jabs and hooks with the right and keeping the left cocked in a sling at his side. Mutley is actually doing a bit more now, pawing with his left jab. That's really it, though. A bit of footwork and a pawing jab. That's literally all the indication that Mutley is even awake. Gavin is very tentative with his right jab now, letting it snowflake against Mutley's gaurd. Clinch. Spin. Crap round. Crapper fight by the minute. Gavin keeps jabbing.

Ooh, a bit of a dust-up after the bell. :shock: Maybe things will pick up. 60-54 Gavin.

 

I'd say more attendance than participation. :yep

The real comedy (and value) of this match is between rounds.

Between the 5th and 6th Gavin's corner laid into him. "Come on, this is an old man. Get him out of there!"

Before the 6th the referee (Rick Davies, I think they said?) grabbed them both behind the neck again and pulled them in saying "You' don't get paid overtime "

 

Round 7

Mutley starts to spoil a bit now, which is more than he's done until now. Grabbing and pushing down on Gavin. A few little jabs and rights. Gavin is pretty ineffective now. Just jabs, and not too many. Mutley catches him flush with a jab to the face, and then nails him with a right cross before Gavin can get his arms up. Mutley again grabs and pushes him down.
