    Round 8

Messy stuff. Mutley is waiting until Gavin is completely bent over to throw, and doing so over his back. Gavin is throwing one or two shots at a time, staying in his tentative lean on the outside and sometimes curling up in a hedgehog ball to lean in (where Mutley is getting his punches off). Right jab to the body by Gavin. Mutley flashes out a lead right hand and catches Gavin with it. Mutley is cut. The referee lets it continue. Wild sweeping left hand by Gavin, misses badly. Right hook catches Mutley slightly as he's strafing by.

What was the cut from? :think

Derek Chisora and Tyson Fury are in a fistfight at ringside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    It's offscreen, though.

One has to wonder if they're just making it up for promotion.

    Round 9

Gavin lands a solid overhand left but Mutley again smirks and shakes his head. Mutley does go back into negative mode, though. Mutley hugs the ropes and stays completely clear of Gavin, pussyfooting around and getting by with the okey-doke. Gavin starts to put a bit more behind his right jab and carries the left through in its trail. Gavin tattoos Mutley's forehead with light jabs and hooks with the right, left completely sheathed.

    10-9 Gavin

    Round 10

They come together briefly as Gavin is pecking his way in. Davies warns him to watch his head. Mutley is shelled up, waiting on Gavin. Lazy right hand and left hook from Mutley, slowly washing in like low tide over Gavin's back as Frankie ducks. A right jab or two from Gavin every 5-10 seconds is the only reassurance we have that these men are having a boxing match and not a staring contest. Gavin strays a bit low with a left hand. Some frequent clinching now. Yeah, that's not the cure for what ails this fight. Davies again warns Gavin in particular for watching his head.

    10-9 Gavin

This is why I don't subscribe to the view that Gavin is world class.

He is a superb boxer, but he should be putting people like Mutley to the floor within 4-5 rounds at most. He doesn't have the stopping power he is going to require to get to truly world class level.
