Mutley has a fiery start, throwing a hard right hand. He pipes down quickly, however. Back in his shell. Gavin's mouthpiece has come out. Pause. Resume. (not that you could tell the difference). Left to the body, right jab up top by Gavin. Rinse. Repeat. Mutley blocks, then retreats, then flicks a jab and/or right. Rinse. Repeat. The pattern breaks with another of those big right hands Mutley started the round with. Where is he keeping those?? He needs to pull them out of storage if he wants to win (as he now kind of seems to want to). Gavin trades jabs with him at close range, both getting theirs in but dealing no damage.

 

Round 12

Gavin is looking to surprise Mutley with a sneaky right hook. Mutley is too alert for that. Mutley paws with a left jab and Gavin moves his head to avoid it. Mutley has no passion in this last remaining time. Just paws with the jab. Gavin, it must be said, isn't doing much more. Gavin is showing off his flashy defense, and landing a few more hooks. He is winning the 12th but not with flying colors.

He says he's backing Groves (who is a friend of a friend) even though he knows nothing about Groves.


Rourke is a former pro boxer, for those who don't know.

He, Collins and Freddie Roach used to be peas in a pod.
