Personally, I think Cleverly will be one of them guys that doesn't make it at world lvel. I don't see anything spectacular in his style. I'd go for a Braehmer stoppage. I think the public will get a shock when he fights for a title, like when Mitchell stepped it up.
he surprised me against McIntosh, he was hell bent in going to war in that fight. He ships far too many punches for my liking, at the moment Braehmer beats him by TKO imo, maybe a bit more seasoning is required. Needs further top class sparring and needs to change trainers as well and become full time, which I think he is about to do.
Yeah he is being trained by his Dad I think, who has never been involved with boxing before. Not a great idea. But, I agree with you he get's hit fairly easy. He has that plain boring style where he doesnt really do anything but walk straight at you.
Cleverly has a lot more flair and offensive variety than he's being given credit for here. He does everything pretty well, he has a good jab, he works the body, he has a right hand, he's got uppercuts. His defence is crap though of that there is no doubt.
I doubt he has the power though to dishearten a man like Braehmer, however his power has improved since he's settled at 175. I'm a Cleverly fan and I'm looking forward to the Murat fight, I just hope he doesn't rush too quick.
It depends on what Braehmer shows up in that fight. he is one of those who can lose to nearly everyone on a bad day. he once lost a decision to Veit who is comparable to Cleverly at some points and he isnt really able to implement a gameplan when he fights an opponent with pulse.
I actually think he has a better chance against braemher than he does murat, can't see cleverly beating murat, he kinda knows a bit to much and i don't think what's worked for cleverly up to now will be good enough to beat murat. Murat's schooling of campillo was mighty impressive albeit it was down at super-middle.
His dad Vince has been involved in amateur boxing for long time, coaching at Church Place ABC. In fairness, I think Clev has looked better since switching to his father than he did with Enzo Calzaghe. His offence and punch variety are quality, but his defence could use a little attention.
Murat ain't better than Braehmer IMO. Although I think Cleverlys lack of defence will see him short against both, but Braehmer is seasoned and whacks very hard, as talented as Clev is, his lack of defence is gonna see him fall short IMO.
