i like it. . . i think it's a close fight on paper. . . i actually think id slightly favor pavlik due to experience, and pumching power. . just not that big on clevs yet. . . dont think he's slick, nor fast enough to keep pavlik from landing his solid 1-2.
Nate Hasn't fought anyone in what research ive done. And he has a Belt.... Hmmm, but They are pretty much the same size. good fight id say!
I think Cleverly would hammer out a decent decision Pavlik looked terrible at 175 and hasnt looked that great past 160 unless hes fighting a bum. People are trying to say that because he is training with Garcia he is somehow "back" but I think cleverly isnt as stiff as he is and would just boss the fight
Very good fight, cleverly has fought bum after bum. Only good opponent he's fought is Bellew and I wouldn't call him world class by any stretch. Cleverly will throw lots of punches and decent combinations but won't hurt Pavlik. Pavlik does have the ability to knock him out but i think clev would win the fight by close decision.
Tough fight to pick. Both have question marks over them, so I'm not sure who I think would win. Pavlik was the better fighter but is he in 2012? Is he a light heavyweight? Is Cleverly being held back or is he a good world champion? Tough to pick.
Kelly would probably knock him out in the mid rounds from what I have seen of Cleverly. By the way Rustbelt do you know when he is starting training with Garcia again? I want to start seeing more of those videos of him training again.
Everyone referring to Pavlik's "power" is forgetting he'd be competing 2 divisions above where said power was. Pavlik was also hurt, cut, and owned by 154 / 160 pounder Sergio Martinez. To think that he'll be able to go up to 175 and not just hurt, but KO a world champ is pretty nuts. Cleverly by close, but clear decision. His experience at 175 would probably see him through.
People like to write off Pavlik, but the truth is, his only two losses come from one of the great mw-lhw's of all time (Bhop) and one of the greatest mw's of this era (martinez). That's it.., he's not lost to anyone else. He still has remarkably heavy hands, a tough spirit, and a few fundamentals that can serve him for most opponents. I think he would actually tko Cleverly in round 9-10
lol World Champ. He got the belt through default and has been allowed to duck his mandatory Sukhotsky and fight journeyman for what 4 fights now? He's been hurt by featherfisted journeyman Kuziamski. Cleverly is featherfisted himeslf with a below average chin. Pavlik would stop him inside 8 rounds, id be shocked if it even went that long.
Pavlik is absolutely **** now. He's done nothing at super-middle, why would anyone think he can do something at light-heavy. Clev's workrate and chin get him through this with surprising ease.
So because he knocked out MWs, Pavlik can suddenly thump a LHW beltholder within 6-10 rounds? Unproven above 160, yet he's LHW title-worthy... atschatschatsch
I hear what you're saying and understand your rational i really do. But you saying "LHW title worthy" when talking about Cleverly and his belt means absolutely nothing, Cleverly isn't even a top 10 LHW. You're underestimating how little i think of Cleverly.
