Well if Andre Ward wants a challenge, step up to LHW and fight Kovalev. Since by his and his fans reckoning he's cleaned up 168, so Andre, you know what to do!

That's what you get for fighting bums instead of slightly stepping it up in the right way

Even without the power, Kovalev was boxing Clevery's head off

    Father Time is undefeated.

Hopkins didn't like the flavor of Dawson's straight lefts. I'm not saying he was badly hurt or anything, but they woke his old ass up and made him visibly anxious. Cloud probably had the power to stop current Hopkins if he weren't so damn slow and practically made-to-order for Hopkins to dismantle, stylistically.

Kovalev's accuracy more than his power will give him an excellent chance of doing what until now has seemed unthinkable.

Seriously? Kovalev is the hardest puncher in the division. He packs serious power. Cleverly has a decent beard. To even get back up from the multiple knockdowns was something. He didn't lye down. You can't take shots like that all night from Kovalev. There going to eventually take their toll.

    Kovalev is an animal..

The right man won BUT lots of controversy - should have been a 3rd round stoppage and also Kov punched Clev twice whilst on the mat and could have/should have been DQ'd

Bizarre really, Cleverly was too green despite being a belt holder.

This is what happens when he doesn't fight top ranked light heavyweights.

Prescott was there to lose to Khan, the same for Mitchell-Katsidis, they're expected to beat guys whose ferocity they've never experianced.

  9. Like I predicted. Next time a Brit steps up I play for real money. Waiting for my vCash. :deal

Ridicolous performance after beeing so arrogant during the weight in. Cleverly laughed at Kovalev, then he showed some wannabe psycho eyes ..
Well, Kovalev is calm and talked with his fists and exposed this Brit.

Cleverly has his debut in the glass jaw rankings of 2013. :deal

First off, all credit to Cleverly for taking a Kovalev fight as an optional defense, I doubt anyone else at 175 would have done the same. Kovalev is so compact and powerful, and Cleverly's looping gangly style was no match for him. Cleverly landed a few single jabs, otherwise had no attacking plan, and no answers for Kovalev, he was completely and utterly overmatched. Special dishonourable mention to the referee Terry O'Conner, who did a HORRIFIC job in the 3rd round, letting Cleverly get hit by Kovalev after he took a knee for the 2nd KD of the round, and ushering Cleverly back to his corner after the flurry after the 2nd KD, before the bell had rung. The 4th round, Cleverly probably should not have come out, he had nothing more. Kovalev should have some big opportunities on American TV now, Hopkins will probably pass him up, but Stevenson would be EPIC, and maybe Ward now has someone to aim for, to finally get his name into the mainstream, if he ever moves up.

Kovalev thanks his sponsor, his training partners, his wife & family, his friends, Kathy Duva, and half the known world.

He is so laid back. You would think he just got a hand job in an Oriental massage parlor, not obliterated a world champion.
