Al Hamidi is reaching overhead with arcing shots. Evans pops him with straight lefts while scooting out, then settles and circles to his right popping the jab up from the hip very calmly and with a brazen lack of defensive posture. Evans really doesn't give a damn whether Al Hamidi lands, no respect for his power. Al Hamidi is still cautious, just pawing in a jab when they circle in close. Evans jerks back and defrays it.

Round 6

Al Hamidi is jabbing, stepping, jabbing, stepping, jabbing, stepping - and then mixing it up with a diving right to the body. Evans isn't falling for it, pivoting away with a counter right jab. Al Hamidi is bobbing and weaving and has Evans backing up to the ropes but isn't touching him. Wild downward slapping flurry by Al Hamidi, all caught or missing. Evans ducks and comes up with a sweeping right hook, falling short. Another duck when Al Hamidi throws back.

Al Hamidi is jumping in with the 1-2. Evans leans back and slingshots in with right hooks. Al Hamidi is pumping out pit-pat combos hopping forward. Evans pushes out to get range and swats with the right hook. Clinch. They both tumble down. Evans circles right and jabs into Al Hamidi's forehead. Al Hamidi presses in and ties up, twisting Evans' arm behind his back.

I'm hoping it winds up on Youtube. Tatli is a good prospect. (but he simply wasn't being matched competitively enough today for me to bother seeking it out when there is already this solid British card on...)

 

It's funny - this will probably end up being another 80-72 but couldn't be any more different from Rees vs. Mitchell in terms of being closely matched.

 

Round 8

Al Hamidi is getting caught with the long right hook from outside, starting at Evans' hip, and tapped with the light right jab. Evans keeps dragging his lead foot back or to the left, repositioning himself circuitously around Al Hamidi to keep jabbing and hooking him, doing all his work with the right hand. Al Hamidi jumps in and flurries with soft chops, but Evans sinks back against the ropes and slips them.
