No I have not. Never heard of him. When a fighter has three or four defences under his belt I expect him to pursue the big fights or I at least expect to be aware of the challengers he faces. Uzelkov may prove to be decent enough, but I doubt it. I'm not convinced that Cleverly can take his reign much further, he's goping to have to step it up at some point. Why isn't he chasing Cloud?
Uzelkov knocked out Campillo a couple of years ago but got beat up by Shumenov and outboxed by limited eurobum Gutknecht recently.. yet another weak defense for Cleverly
Not the best division to be in , thats the problem. They wanted Froch to move up for a fight but he refused.
Cloud was supposed to fight Pascal but Pascal pulled out. I believe he must now fight his mandatory Karo Murat. Cleverly has already defeated Murat.
Murat. Who has Murat beaten since the Cleverly loss to deserve this fight? I'm not denying him his shot, but its a useless fight. Cleverly and Cloud are not fulfilling my expectations. I never really liked Cleverly, to be honest, but I had high hopes for Cloud. Cleverly and Cloud need to fight each other if they can't get any of the established names.
I remember Uzelkov fighting Shumenov on FNF here in the US. Not terribly impressed, so I'm not sure why he's getting a shot at a belt. Such is boxing I guess.
