Nathan Cleverly...Was there ever an explanation for his one-armed bandit routine?

Seriously...I was waiting to hear how he went into the second Bellew fight with a badly-broken right hand.

Please don't tell me that he actually intended to throw that weak little jab and nothing else for the entire fight???

And now he's allowed to call out Braehmer as if he didn't lay an egg the last time out?

    This is madness.

Fixed! Looking for a 3rd fight IMO but it was that ****! Nobody wants to see it! Terrible fight! Terrible fighters!

Clev is marginally better but still useless.

Nath has been exposed, and should now stick to winning a euro or welsh belt.

Some fighters have more pride than to make excuses after a loss.

Nathan is a good guy, sadly, now nearing his 30's, he's struggling to make LHW, but is just way too small for CW, he's got about 2 years to do something again at 175', after that, it will be damaging torture on the body.

Massive difference between L/Heavy and Cruiser in all honesty Clev had no business fighting Bellew @ Cruiser other than a massive PPV wind fall so i can understand why he did it . i agree with Fnatic two more years @175lbs then retire as its obvious he ain't elite @ that weight either .

Such a strange fight. He looked comfortable with the jab alone in the begining and then just started leaning against the ropes doing nothing, Bellew stilled struggled really hard to land anything but Cleverly just did so little, so little heart and fight in him during that fight was hard to watch.

I guess Jim that's what putting on 20 odd pounds does for a bloke, to say he looked sluggishly slow would be a compliment i swear to god that's the last time i PPV either him or Bellew . ripped off badly there and i was at a party and watched it in he bar which made it worse FFS.

I think he was mentally Krushed by the Kovalev defeat and that coupled with him constantly having people question him about it and all the talk of Bellew being so much naturally bigger and harder hitting up at CW got to his head too.

Correct the Kovalev beat down mashed his head up and after that i reckon he went into money making mode if he had lost to Krusher on points he would have stayed @175lbs and shrugged it off but the manner in which he lost v kovalev probably made him think " who the hell needs this ****ola i'm of to Cruiser to face Bellew as i know he can't hurt me and we can rake it in PPV " and the fight we saw proved Bellew couldn't hurt him imo , it's easy to say in retrospect it was a ****e fight but before hand all i was hearing was how much fans were looking forwards to it , also in retrospect the under card was pony as well but we got to see a few prospects have a run out so all in all i got to see half a dozen fights for what £25 ( i can't remember the exact figure ) .

I remember the interview he gave on Sky Sports (when he was part of the in studio panel for a fight - don't recall which one now) where he looked fat in the face. He actually looked like he'd been hitting the bottle and seemed genuinely depressed when quizzed about the Kovalev loss. The amount of times he was quizzed about it during interviews, asked whether he was over it and if it was true he was contemplating quitting the sport was ridiculous. It happened literally every time he was interviewed. You could see he felt uncomfortable talking about it and that he was still affected by it.

He's not a CW. I think he said he usually weighs about 13st 8lbs in sparring and felt strong at that weight but when fighting at 175 he said he was coming into the ring at about 13st 2lbs. If that's true he should've just stayed at 175 and come in heavier.

I couldn't really say to tell the truth but the hiding he took wasn't a prolonged shellacking ( that type of fight ruins careers ) it was more of an "oh i just got my **** handed to me by a beast" sort of fight , mentally yea you are probably correct though . as for not being a cruiser that's spot on what's the weight difference 25 lbs ? too much to gain and obviously he had F ark all pop there .
