Thought Cleverley did a number on McKintosh tonight and seemed to have lots going for him, power, speed, brains.I know Mckintosh was pretty limited and Cleverley has looked shakey in previous fights, but he did look pretty slick tonight and seems to have his head firmly on his shoulders. How far can he go ? P.S has a similar build to Thomas Hearns ?
Well i didn't see the whole fight but i saw bits and pieces and now he's proved himself to me as a good fighter and has balls to stand and trade...he's won me over i'm a fan now. I don't like fighters that fight bums all the time and Cleverly was getting in that mould but tonight he not only took a risky fight but he stepped in there and took a risk and went toe to toe to show his metal..gotta love that. As for how far can he go..he may win a world title if managed correctly. He's not in Chad Dawson's league but he's definitely got a bit about him and could have a better career then Clinton Woods had at light heavy.
I was really impressed with him, he dealt with McIntosh with little problem. Seems to have a bit of power now and a wide range of shots...he has been making great improvements in recent times. I can see him reaching Top 10 world level pretty soon, maybe he Warren can get him a title shot against that Campillo, hes a very weak title holder.
He's developing quite nicely at 175. I was unsure after I saw him against Joey Vegas at 168 but has looked swell at the higher weight since then.
At 22 years old im sure he's still maturing. He might end up a very big LHW ? I was undecided before tonight, but he's impressed the **** outta me now.
Yeah, I thought Diego Corrales by Hearns as well. I still don't think Cleverly is up to much, he has no inside game, and I can see him getting bullied and beat by a sub-standard James Toney type.
He's coming along nicely. It's obvious he naturally has the tools, If he keeps progressing like this I can definatly see a world title in the future.
Offensively he's got it, speed wise he's good, his power is developing. Still not sure about his toughness or strength. Imagine him against a good strong type :think
I still think he some way off fighting Glenn Johnson it still be man vs boy in there for me. He needs to continue maturing and his time will come. He needs a fight against a Glenn Johnson type fighter. Someone who takes him in deep waters.
Cleverly looked good tonight, but I still think he has chin issues and could easily be "ruffed" up, I think the first puncher with decent skills he fights he gets KO'd badly. Seems a nice kid.
