He has lost the plot unfortunately very sad to see. I don't like "x fighter destroyed this guy's career" arguments because I think they can be overly simplistic by not taking other relevant factors into account. That being said, I genuinely think something snapped in Cleverly during the Kovalev steamrolling. The ballooning up in weight, the ill-advised move to cruiserweight, the dreadful performance against Bellew and subsequent kamikaze tactics against Fonfara, Braemer and Jack (albeit he had some success in these fights). He was just never the same after Kovalev.

I think I’ll save my sympathy for someone that needs it. While the rest of us are working this dude appears to be on a permanent holiday. Good on him!

Yeah it's a little worrying to see someone go off the rails totally but I don't think he is, I just think he hasn't got the best of taste, not the best at making decisions and he's enjoying himself. If you were at that hotel and saw what he was doing would you think "oh that's disturbing" or would you think he's just like every other drunk person there on holiday, only him being a 6ft 3 guy in a rather questionable outfit, red joggers man, crikey.

I think it's more that boxing held him back from living the life he is now, he's a Cardiff lad that loves his cheesey EDM, tracksuits, religious iconography tattoo's and a beer or 8. He's probably always struggled with something, just like a lot of people, he just needs a bit of guidance now his boxing career is over, something religion doesn't appear to be doing.

I think boxing was quite kind to him. He probably had some decent pay days, particularly the box office fight against Bellew. He was quite average, maybe overachieved somewhat. Had success in the division when it wasn't the greatest.

I just can't forget his pathetic performance in the rematch against Bellew. I've despised him ever since, fooking twat.

She's gone now and he's deleted all content of her from his Instagram, I reckon she did alright financially out of him. He's totally gone, he looks like a jacked Quagmire with a bit of Big Neville Southall mixed in. Really odd that he's prancing around thinking he's god and filtering pictures of himself like he's a fifteen year old girl, he's become a parody of himself.

That is very sad. When he was boxing part time whilst pissing about at Uni and was collecting British and Commonwealth belts, I honestly thought he was going to be a proper world champion. His best win in hindsight was probably the Karo Murat stoppage, along with the decision over that clown Bellew.

I always wondered how much he got for boxing Kovalev on HBO. Not as much as he should have is my guess.

Cleverly has opened up his own tanning salon in Blackwood by the looks of things, G Tan, yeah you've read that correctly. He's been calling himself "Clev The G" for ages. G Tan.

Nathan's another reason why boxers need proper aftercare. Going by this thread he's been on a steady spiral since retirement, and the heyday stuff is long gone now. Hard to believe this is the same bright lad who did a maths degree and became World Champion.

At least in London the old fighters have LEBA and meet once a month. You do wonder how many more need something like that when the boxing stops.

Good fighter was Cleverly, but he took way too much in those last three fights, especially Fonfara. Sad to see where it's ended up, but he's not the first and won't be the last.

Hopefully the ones who eventually pick up the phone and reach out to him aren't BKFC.
