It struggles to sell out the Copperbox mate. Dubois seems to have lost momentum and unfortunately contains as much charisma as a street lamp post. Gorman seems to be destined for a higher level but as of yet is still relatively unknown outside the 'hardcore' fraternity. I eagerly await the Warren Hypocrisy compendium thread
Bellew (admittedly he's just retired) did more business against Usyk than Fury v Wlad. Hearn would also get a sizeable number of buys for Brook v Khan in fairness.
But he's been successfully selling PPV's for quite some time, Whyte, Bellew, Brook have all sold PPV's with decent numbers. The only sustainable model for BT or Sky is through PPV. Besides Fury and possiblly Frampton who else has successfully sold PPV? He needs to build his PPV stars.
Debatable if Frampton has to be honest, bearing mind his fight with Quigg did half the numbers that a Whyte non-title fight did. The Fury issue is another problem, as everyone knows Joshua is the money fight, and that'll be on Sky unless something massive can be ironed out with the contracts which I just can't see. It's not Floyd Pacquaio or Lewis Tyson. It's a huge name against a name.
Exactly. Kevin Johnson was a good learning fight for him where he got 10 valuable rounds in. Do people want him to keep fighting little LHWs from Uruguay or something to make him look good?
Gorman is in deeper than he knows vs Leapai. Leapi has an undisputedly great chin. Never been sparked. Only gassed. Leapai has huge power; more than any Gorman has faced. Always an indication of which Leapai will turn up has been his weight. Look at his history and keep an eye on the weigh in. You might make a quid or two backing Leapai in this one as the odds should be good. Leapai WILL land on Gorman at some point. We know Leapai can take it... can Gorman?
