I had a humdinger of a thread on ****** Clenshaws forum re Sting v Darchinyan. Was taking on ten at once. It was however widely beaten by the Bell v Lovett super fight. They were the days!

No worries, if I get the tape I'll let you know, yeah that's right, we all caught the bus from Melbourne, Iran Barkley had just won the world title beating Darrin Van Horne and some one had the video, we all got to watch the fight on the trip over.

    That was a great trip.

I was pretty young back then, i think you guys may have been SNR's? i would have still been a JNR. Dont really remember watching Barkley but i do remember that one of the officals was a diabetic and his sugar levels were low, he needed something sweet and was asking people on the bus. He was the short ref and a really nice guy.

Cain melbourne also would have fought on that show and perhaps the jeka boys? I remember lincon on the bus but mostly because he was almost my age and i remember that two story hotel/motel we all stayed at.

I dont think Bob was doing the video tape because he didnt have the rights to tape it in SA, it would have been the SA guy doing it. If you can think of his name perhaps someone may know his contact details and it could be purchased from him, i rekon it would have a tone of great fights on it because back then the league was a fountain of talent.

It was a ******* of a night with some good, close fights, I was third last fight that night. I remember that hotel, and the feed they put on for every one when we got there, all I was allowed to do was look at the food, I was still trying to make weight.

Every one went out on the **** after the fights and there was some very funny moments. I had to cut the night short after one beer, and a game of pool on an L shaped pool table:shock:, as I was in a bit of pain. Turned out I had a shattered nose, a fractured skull and broken ribs, talk about a tough opponent.

I can't remember his name, he was the SA 72kg (71 and some change?) champ and was 15-0 before our fight, hardest puncher I've ever experienced. I can't wait to see the tape, and also find out my opponent's name.
