Yeah, that's right I started this thread because his second name confused me. In the build up to his fight with Murat his ring intelligence was mentioned multiple times by multiple analysts. His ring smarts were mentioned several times during commentary in a fight in which he displayed none.
Lol so he displayed no ring smarts?? I'm sure he could've won it easier boxing from the outside but Murat showed how durable yet limited he was in terms of variety in his offence. So yes this may may not have been such an 'intelligent' display if he had been in against somebody like a Bernard Hopkins, who I know you admire so greatly and whose vast 'intelligence' you are in thrall to. But in this particular instance Cleverly thought it was worth the gamble in attempting to wear a highly durable yet limited opponent down, and in doing so make an impact with the fans. Not exactly einstein but with regard to ring smarts I wouldn't describe it as a fight in which "he displayed none" either. Now that is a statement lacking in smarts
I've always thought that Cleverly would have benefitted massively from a beating in the way Haye got taught his lesson by Thompson. It's a bit late for Cleverly now because he's moved onto a level where these guys are serious fighters over 12 rounds. Cleverly is so far up his own hype that he cannot see the areas where he needs to improve before he gets eventually unstuck. There'll come a time at some point when these very bad habits will become the reason why he lost a fight. He is so sloppy at times, yet if he wants to be this fan-friendly showman then he'll carry on. I also think Dean Powell needs to get hold of Warren's ear and force an issue with getting a new trainer.
:barf ....fair enough then you clever *******. I could have done a lot more if had a little more maturity about me and didnt smoke weed all day back then:rofl
It depends on the degree. I'd say a 2:2 in maths is still good, I had to do some university level maths on my degree and it was hard as nails, he must be pretty smart to do 3 years of that. A 2:2 in film studies is a bit wank.
