It took me about 30 seconds to come to the conclusion that guy in the white trunks can't box for ****.

    Round 1

Hughes is putting up the right jab and following with left crosses to the body. Duncan is jerking straight back, hands down and neck outstretched as Hughes pushes him back chasing with 1-2s up top. Counter left and right jabs by Duncan, switching between orthodox and southpaw, circling away, pulling his upper body back reflexively when Hughes reaches with the 1-2. Hughes is tapping Duncan with the right jab and reaching for him with the left cross but coming up just short. Clinch.

    10-9 Hughes

"Not much bothered about his defense, is he, Duncan?"

    "What defense? :blood"

    Good commentary.

Lee Duncan brought his own cheering section, and they've been doing a "There's only one Lee Duncan" singsong chant since the opening bell. :dead

    Round 2

Hughes is coming straight in with the 1-2, getting tied up, eluded or countered with lead right hands. Duncan is dancing around, turned southpaw, pushing a right jab out in Hughes' line of sight and then slapping him behind the head with a right hook. Hughes beelines in on Duncan and gets tied up and pushed down upon. Duncan is dancing around Hughes, bouncing up and down springily, keeping his knees partly bent all the while. Straight left by Hughes, lunging, missing. Clinch and body work by Duncan. Light right jabs flicked in from outside by Duncan.

    10-9 Duncan

    19-19

Yep. Hughes seems a bit wooden and not all that creative.

Stand there and let him whack you, and he will close the show, but...

Yes he did... if you only saw him the first 2 minutes of the first, you'd give mulletboxer a chance to last the distance against him.

    Round 3

Hughes is using the right jab to set up his work on the advice of Dave Coldwell (promoter, working his corner). BIG left cross on the button by Hughes. Duncan holds. Duncan tracks around the ring, flicking his long arms straight out at Hughes to slow him down. Hughes jabs in and nails Duncan on the chin with another big left hand. More clinching and wrestling by Duncan.

    10-9 Hughes

    29-28 Hughes

    Round 4

Hughes is landing his straight left on the body and keeping close on top of Duncan. Hughes is getting tied up as he draws the bowstring and delivers high left hands up top while Duncan is leaned all the way back with his arms held out in a net. Light counter jabs popped by Duncan as he waits for Hughes to delve into the spiderweb with his predictable high 1-2.

    10-9 Hughes

    39-37 Hughes

    Round 5

Hughes is blasting the 1-2 up top and forcing Duncan to flee and grab when they reach the ropes. Hughesis pulled in while slamming a left cross up top and they clash heads. Hughes is cut badly. Duncan keeps backpedaling and flicking his tentacles out while Hughes zeroes in on him and pumps his fists straight up at him. Referee Mike Alexander pauses to have Hughes' cut looked at.

Stopped, going to a technical decision.

    10-9 Hughes

    49-46 Hughes

 @ even the Brit commentators wondering aloud what happens in this situation.

"Does the ref score it when it goes to cards on a cut? :blood"

    Incidentally, yes.

    Silly UK boxing referee scoring...
