Was the sparring they showed regarding the Barrera fight a reflection of how he just wasnt the same ? Great video AMAZING man :thumbsup
Ingle has been extremely lucky to be blessed with extremely talented fighters. Unfortunately he teaches them to be awkward and neglects the basics i.e. keeping your chin down, balance, overshooting etc Such a shame. Very successful but I think Naz, Witter, Nelson and co could and should be more.
They generally just did the body sparring. However in build up to fights I believe head sparring was invovled. I knew of one incident when Naz was a 16 year old he was floored by a shot to the head by a big burly 20 stone rugby player. Apparantly Naz got back to his feet and then bashed up the rugby player in revenge.
Aw I didn't want it to end - memories. I must admit when I saw the thread title I hoped it was recent footage.
Zactly where am at aswell. SPECIAL in the Dictionary should have HAMED right next door. HE was. For a guy thats left so much unturned, given the climate, he has naturally turned over a hell of a lot. I wish that man all the best in life. He gave more than enough. Thanks
brought back some memories, that was a good time in british boxing, we had benn, eubanks, watson, bruno, naz and coming up were lonnox lewis and joe calzaghe.
Nah - Lewis had been coming up before Naz and Calzaghe Naz turned Pro in 1992 Calzaghe turned Pro in 1993 - on a Lennox Lewis undercard Lennox Lewis was a WBC World Heavyweight Champion by 1993 and before that he was the Olympic Gold Medallist 1988 and was a British / Commonwealth / European Heavyweight Champion
