This isn't an excuse thread, Naz lost fair and square.

This is more of a "How Much" thread.

How much did Naz's preparation for the fight influence the result of the fight?

Was there any way Naz ever had the beating of MAB?

Had Naz's preparation been better, could he have won the fight?

I think Hamed would’ve fought Barrera years earlier if Barrera had beaten Junior Jones, and Hamed would’ve won.

Hamed only needed about four or five more punches landed per round to win that fight, so yes it would’ve been possible under different conditions.

Well not sure there's an excuse has such that he lost but there was that film made, of his preparations for his fight with Marco. Steward was annoyed with him, asked about a sparring session he'd just seen, said Naz look bloody terrible.
It was the right time for Barrera imo. Naz looked bad, like he wasn't really there.
MAB made him miss all over and he was confident and catching him easily.
He didn't have a clue how to respond.
Let's face it, in all his previous fights, he'd never really had to worry about it, he had too much faith in his power.
He won around 3rounds and and left the ring shell shocked.

Ironically by the time of the fight MAB was seen as a bit over the hill.

Yeah I've seen that build up program a few times tbh. It was supposed to be a real insight into what made him a superstar, and by the end of it everyone was like what the hell is wrong with him.

I don’t really agree. He looked very good going into the Hamed fight, but maybe that the general public felt that way.

Hamed dealt with plenty of adversity against Kelly, Tom Johnson, and Augie Sanchez. His ability to get though it like he showed against Kelly and Johnson was pretty much absent during the Barrera fight. Sanchez wasn’t terrible but showed that Naz was slipping already.

I'm on about the perception at the time.

Steward sounded like a mess when he talked about Barrera as a Hamed opponent after the Salud fight.

Naz wasn't at his peak no doubt, but it was his fault. He was to full of himself and didn't train right, switched trainers, and gained a enormous amount of weight he had to cut in a short amount of time. I still think Barrera would give any version of Naz hell though, I wouldn't be surprised if Barrera destroys a prime Naz in the same fashion.

They were all on the slide except Augie, he was coming up and took the Naz fight too soon imo.

Barrera again imo would have beaten any version of Naz.

Hamed was scared to death, just take a look at his nervous face during his introduction.

Yep in those fights you mentioned, Naz won thru with his fist s. That was no good here.
