I feel like you're pushing a narrative. Johnson was in double digit title defenses and Kelley had one loss in about 50 fights. They may have fallen off after fighting Hamed, but a big payday and brutal ko loss can do that to a fighter.

Hamed won about 4 rounds and they were in single digit punches landed in almost every round against Barrera.

It reminds me of Rigondeaux's last fight. He would've landed a handful more punches per round if it were a few years earlier.

In that case, you should be discrediting Barrera for beating Hamed.

I think Hamed didn't want to fight anymore.
Remember hearing reports about how he wouldn't even show up to training camp until he wanted to - sometimes late at night.
Prime Hamed - think he flattens Marcos.

I was very happy to see Naz lose to Barrera. I especially liked the full nelson in the last seconds of the fight. Hamed was a showman and real exciting and powerful, but it was nice to see him humbled, almost as fun as watching Maidana humble Broner.

I also think part of the reason Hamed retired was that the arrogant Muslim act wasn't going to fly to well right after 9/11. At least that's what i always thought.

Well to be honest this fight was just a threat to Naz to not go near Pacquiao, Morales or Marquez since I always ranked Barrera lower than them

The kind of extreme bendiness he exhibited at his peak doesn't tend to last much into the mid-twenties. Training or not I don't think he was ever particularly destined for longevity.

It's a shame he never stepped up earlier, it would have been interesting to see if he could be timed.
