why people making out Barrera beat Naz by a milestone, its not true Naz won like 4-5 rounds, Close fight. Barrera didnt even knock naz down once!
Naz like an idiot gave away the first 2-3 rounds showboating, thinking he was in against a totally shot MAB, who had lost twice to Junior Jones and had a life and death match against Morales, which he also lost, But Barrera was totally primed for it, and had been working hard, while Naz had barely trained or sparred at all, 12 rounds from what i've heard, infact i think he sparred agaisnt heavyweights of all ppl lol, and after getting his ass kciked the first few rounds, his trianer, the late Oscar suarez was kissing his ass basically, which pissed off Manny Steward, who changed the game plan to going for the one punch KO. As history shows, it didnt work, and instead Naz got countered all day, and ended up looking like an idiot. He did win atleast 3-4 rounds tho, but clearly lost the match, wasnt a shutout by any means as has been stated by many.
I don't buy into the "took him lightly" excuse. Hamed knew very well that Barrera, Morales and the rest in his division or lower were literally BEGGING for a fight with him. The money and attention it would bring is enough proof to Hamed, who was aware of it, is going to make these guys train like beasts and come in beyond 100% for beat the hell out of him. Hamed was rocked in the first round and had to think twice before attacking since. It's not Hamed's fault he lost, it's Barrera's.
Naz underrated him and paid the price. He couldnt live with the shame of losing to a guy who'd lost three times previously, including getting KTFO. As histroy shows, he shouldnt have been so down. Other theories state he moved to Manila, grew a moustache and mullet and came back to beat the **** out of him a couple of years later. Its never been confirmed tho.
Think twice before attacking? were we watching the same fight, with Naz loading up and doing a flying punch??? doesnt sound too defensive to me.
No version of Naz would have beat a semi prime Barrera. Naz had an exciting style but that style would never work against top guys. Stop making excuses with "showboating" Naz was never winning those fights. Barrera, Morales are there or there abouts as far as ATG's go. Naz never was and was never going to get near that level. A rematch would have ended the same way.
Yeah, he did. People hated him and he reacted comically to punches so they forgot about it. What's up Auracle. JL forum.
Yeah, it was close, for having one guy getting technically outclassed the entire fight. As far as boxing clinics go, it was close.
I'd say the same about Junior Jones, but guess what, he whooped Barrera not once, but twice, including getting him out of there. Having followed Naz, I'd say he had a bad day at the office, and didnt show half his skills, but hey, its all opinions. Maybe he should have stayed down after having his head hit against the corner, maybe he could have eeked out a dq win Dirrel style.
