The fact that you think "Naz beat nobody" shows that you know **** all about his career. So why not just keep quiet eh?
As a broad statement that is far from true...Naz's record is bloody solid. But he was talking about how another poster compared this fight to Duran-Leonard, which is way off the mark of course. In comparison to Leonard's record Naz really didnt beat anybody of note but most fighters of the last 20 years beat nobody if you compare their record with Leonard's.
The Naz who lost to Barrera was simply not in love with the sport any more. He had lost his zeal and passion for the sport and it's impossible to perform well in any sport once the fire has gone out of you, let alone win a World championship. If Naz had fought with the passion and intensity he had a few years prior to 2000-2001 he would have beaten Barrera - I doubt it would have been an *easy* win, but he would have won. Naz was clowning around and not serious throughout the fight! US fans will NEVER give fans any credit, I doubt they would even if he had KO'd Barrera - there would still be more excuses. Losing a close decision does not constitute being "schooled" by any standards! regards
I kinda liked Naz..I didnt mind his cockiness and he could be very exciting to watch. But regardless of the scores of that fight he was owned clearly..MAB lost some rounds in the process of sticking firmly to a gameplan, its not as though Naz took them off him in a dominate fashion...A lot of rounds that MAB won were quite dominate for him however..Overall the fight wasnt close at all IMO and in most people's opinions from what I can gather.
Barrera was the more technically sound boxer that loved pompous fighters like Hamed and would beat him probably every time.
Yeah boxing do need someone like him, sad to say he wont win against barrera no matter how many rematches they make.
you joker, barrera would've whupped his arse even worse, naz was helpless against mab, thats why he never tried to get a rematch.
Barrera was on a higher plane to Hamed, any version of Hamed, and that was shown clearly when they fought in 2001.
end of the day, Barrera had Hamed's number.... Naz had a rematch clause and obvioulsy didnt take Barrera up on it....he had lost his love of the game, simple as...if a rematch happend, same embarrasing result!!?
