I feel Naz wanted to come back - but think he could never truley find the hunger - he would have flashes of inspiration of like when he watched Ricky Hatton beat Kostya Tsyzu he was in disneyworld with his family and said to the fight stirred something inside him and he wanted to come back. Every year or so since he retired there resurfaces a new rumour and of course he has never said he officially retired. However boxing is all about being active. If he was going to come back he should have had a rest and maybe come back in 2003 or 2004 but to come back in 2010 is just asking for a painful defeat.

surely he would not want to come back now this late in the day - its not like he is some hard luck story like Ken Buchanen - Naz is loaded with property and a nice family, he is way to comfortable in life now to get back to the life of a disciplined boxer.

Naz was never ever gonna come back. Too big of an egomaniac to come back and admit he'd be beaten again by the same man so instead of coming back and avoiding Barrera or coming back and getting beat by Barrere he left his fans hanging on for years

It's a silly rumour that's been doing the rounds for about six years of the seven since his last fight. He is now about 16 stone and hasn't set foot in the gym in God (or Allah) knows how long! If he came back now it would have to be at cruiserweight.

Though he might still beat Enzo Mac...

I think the preception of Naz being massive fat ****er is exaggerated. Think about it he was a boxer who had trained non stop since he was 7 years old. At his peak he trained 3 times a day. There was not a ounce of fat on him. He was a lean and super fit 9 stone. He was living a extreme lifestyle of non stop boxing training. So when he retired and settled into a more normal life it was inevitable he put on weight and became more normal. It looked a big transformation only because he was so super slim during his fighting days.

Naz vs Morales at HW. That would be entertaining! My money would be on Naz.

It's shocking that these two guys were legends less than 10 years ago!

well maybe he has indulged himself too much in his mothers famed yemeni cooking but it was inevitable he put on a few stone when he retired just because he is less active.

Yeah I know but some fighters like to keep a bit of weight off and go for runs etc etc now and again. Just not ex British champions :rofl

yeah true that - Joe Calzaghe done a interview in Zoo magainze the other week saying he was never coming back but that he had just returned from a 4 mile run because he was too vain to ever let himself go.
At least Naz is fat and happy enjoying himself while Calzaghe has always struck me as a bit of a miserable sod.
