Nah, but seriously, you're right. People read Richardson's quotes and think he is some sort of boxing genius, but he had taught his fighters how to fight dirty, awkward fights. Both Hopkins and Mosley have fantastic physical attributes, so can't they use them better than they have? They have both held so much and made their fights ugly to watch.

He isn't the genius people think he is and he deserves criticism for teaching his fighters how to fight such a dirty style.

 

Haye had a point taken off after the first incident without any prior warning (from the 'English' ref Guillermo Perez Pineda). If you watch the incident again you will notice that Ruiz was trying his best to clinch (actually illegal, believe it or not) and then proceeded to continue stumbling forward and lean out of the ring with his back to his opponent (turning away is also illegal). There were a couple of occasions where Haye hit behind the head again, but all of them involved Ruiz also doing something outside the rules too (either trying to clinch or turning away).

I'm aware that hitting to the back of the head is more dangerous, but if you are going to fight dirty or turn away you can't expect your opponent to sit there and do nothing, you would just be giving them an unfair advantage.

Well, I think he`s more trying to defend `Rockgloves` Margarito than anything. However, nothing excuses what Rockgloves has done.
