Nazim Richardson on Margarito!

I like both fighters, can't say i'm a bigger fan of either, but if AM turned down 4 Mill to fight a guy he lost to he is ducking him.

And if he can make 147, then he's a Welter, but anytime the AM loses come up Margo fans say its because he was outweighed, so theres a huge double standard there.

 

Margarito does not make the decisions on who and who not to fight, that was Arum as far as I know. In any event, the last thing I'm going to do right now is get into a debate about whether or not Margarito is ducking Williams. It's recycled and crap!

Margarito lost the Williams fight because he was out boxed by a superior boxer, and I thought he beat Santos in their second meeting.

Fair enough on both points. I wasn't picking you out, just saying that alot of Margaritos fans on here attack people for saying hes bigger then most WW's, but then on the flip side they have screen shots showing he was outweighed in a loss.

 

I do believe there's only 1 or 2 guys who say that. Amb_Def and Aztec I think.

 

Lets not get too carried away with all the Margie accolades.
He is what he is and nothing more.

Although he can take a good punch to the jaw....he is still human and
will eventually succomb to ( as he is showing signs now ) the Jello of the

If we have one thread that even remotely says something positive about Margarito, we then get someone like Capitan saying, "Let's not get too carried away, although he can take a good punch to the jaw".

You couldn't be more disrespectful if you tried. Margarito is only good for getting hit in the jaw, and that's how beat the world class Miguel Cotto. Let's completely disregard his combination punching, variety, and unbelievable work ethic. He only wins because he can take a good punch to the jaw.

 

His ability to hit you with uppercuts you dont see is amazing. I agree and have to give Nazim his due for being honest and not just talkin out his ass.

 

Yeah, he's the guy who gave Cotto a beatdown and made him quit not to mention the best welterweight and a top P4P fighter.

Anything is possible in this vicious sport but not before he sparks Cotto even earlier in their rematch.

He's a major Cotto nuthugger and is still severely butt sore from the raping his hero took at the hands of Margo. He's been in every Margarito related thread since that tragic night trolling and spewing his frustrations to anyone who will listen. When Margo gets medieval on Cotto's ass again next summer we'll see even more **** from this Capitan Jackass.

 

Tru. the same could be said about williams who's even taller than margarito, yet i admire him more and give him props for his skill. the haters usually talk before they think and have grown accostumed to burning themselves in their holes. it turns them on

 

the problem with Margo is that we have seen him being beat at his own game. What keeps him from being a truely elite fighter is what happens when someone can match him, he has nothing eles to go to. He wears guys down, and he has had trouble with big fighters that are as strong or stronger then him. Now dont confuse Cotto's attempt to outbox Margo as some kind of sign that boxers cant outbox Margo, that isnt cotto's game. Other fighters out there that are boxers would do what Cotto did and be able to do so for 12 rounds without taking the shots, just as we saw from Randell and Whitaker in there fights with Chavez.

Margo is a damn good fighter, and not just any boxer can beat him, its going to take a damn good one, but its never a good thing to not be able to go to something eles. Which is why I think that we will never see a rematch with Williams and its very unlikely that we will see a rematch with Clottey...The only way that will happen would be if Shane beats Margo, then he might case fights with Williams and Clottey. But of course that would be after the rematch with Cotto which is a fight that will happen no matter what happens with Margo's fight with Shane.

 

Nah he dont do that, Margo is squared up to much to move. I think the problem is that too many of the so-called Margo fans have only seen a few fights, those fights being the Cintron, Williams, Clottey and Cotto fights. Cintron and Cotto just werent boxers and really didnt know how to fight Margo. They both made him look great, when he fought Clottey and Williams people said oh he was rusty which is bull because Margo has been fighting twice a year since 2000 and going into those fights it was no different. Go back and watch his fight with Diaz and you will get a perfect idea of how a not so good or strong fighter can beat Margo. Diaz when he got backed into the ropes would put his right hand high and roll to his right leaving Margo standing there or throwing that wide looping right hand at a guy that was already gone. Diaz was doing a great job in that fight until Margo wore him down in 10. If Shane follows that plan he will beat Margo even at his advanted age. it was all because Margo squares his feet up so that he can fire shots with both hands.
