Thanks for sharing, good interview. Nazim is usually honest and he couldn't be more honest there, he's not one to talk smack just for the sake of promoting his guy. This should be an exciting tough fight for both, can't wait for the 24/7 soon.
I disagree with that "its hard to convince someone who has never lost that they're gonna lose" comment. Tons of undefeated fighters have lost before. At some point, everyone is undefeated. Margarito did it to Cotto Forrest did it to Mosley the list goes on...
He didn't say it was impossible... just hard. Especially someone who is undefeated for so long, regardless of what people will say about his level of competition.
We'll see what the **** Nazim really can do in this fight. Coming up with a stragedy against Margarito, and Pavlik is one thing, but coming up with a winning one against Mayweather is something else. Mosley and Nazim will have to prove themselves in this one.
If he has a plan to beat Mayweather and Shane executes it precisely? I see no reason why he shouldn't be trainer of the year. Who gives a damn if it's just because of one fight!!!
Floyd has been undefeated since 1996. He's been at or near the top of the P4P list for much of that time. That's a long time to convince yourself that you're unbeatable. That confidence is hard to break. Not impossible, but hard. A much less talented fighter in Carl Froch has managed to turn that sort of confidence into a world title, wins over more talented guys, and a seed in the Super Six tournament.
This fight seems to be the toughest fight for either man. Floyd is the obvious favorite; however, I still feel that an argument can be made that Shane could beat Floyd. Both fighters truly need the win for more than financial motives. I expect a close competitive fight and I would not be shocked if the result came out a draw.
