The chance is greater if the fighter does not see the punch coming. Floyd will have multiple opportunities against Manny. Martinez hit PW with the same left hook, in the first and second fights, multiple times. But, it wasn't until PW was not braced for it, and didn't see it, that the well placed left hook, put him out. Same thing with Hatton, in both the Pac and Floyd fights, when he didn't see the well timed hook, and wasn't braced for it, it was lights out.

Floyd has excellent timing. And he has solid power...not bone crushing, but enough to get his opponent's respect. And he is quick, as hell. Manny lunges forward, at times, and puts himself in positions where he can be caught off balance. JMM lit Pac up, when Pac lunged forward to try that 3 hit combo he does. On the other hand, Cotto got KD when Pac did the same combo on him. Cotto does not have JMM's timing, and ring perception so he could not catch Manny. Floyd does though (and has more than JMM, presumably). He will, more than likely, figure out when to time his counter, when/if Manny tries this on him. He will be able to take a step back, make Manny miss and get him off balance, then make him pay. That could result as a KO. Anything is possible.

if that's the case he should protect mosley from pac since mosley looked like **** against mayweather. someone needs to tell mosley he's done and needs to retire. he's likable and i'm sure he can make good money doing other things within the game where he doesn't have to risk his life against an animal like pac.

Floyd had a tune-up fight in Marquez, Mosely had more than a year off. Even though coming off a spectacular win against Margarito he was at a disadvantage condition wise.

Manny fights best in mid-range, then backs off, and moves in again. He avoids clinches best way he can. Hatton when hurt tries to clinch and fails and thus is kd in round 1. There were a lot of clinches in Floyd-Hatton fight because Hatton wants to fight on the inside, Floyd's forearm/elbow and clinches easily comes into play, especially having weight and strength on his side.

No doubt. Those can weaken Manny's legs, over the course of the fight. Floyd has so many wrinkles to his game, that he will have a number of paths to victory.

I agree, if they had any intention of fighting Floyd, they sure have not been matching him up with any fighters even close to Floyds style.

The thing with Floyd is he always does the opposite. Shane never expected him to go toe to toe and come forward, Floyd stated this himself. I would like to see if Manny can fight in close holding and clinching (Philly style). The thing is with Manny like all power punchers need leverage and space to get their punches off. If Floyd gets in his chest and nulify the spacing and make it ugly, then what?

You will never see Manny fight up close, holding and clinching. His early fights attest to that. He has no need to fight on the inside. When you have the advantage in speed and angles, and southpaw stance, why throw that away by fighting on the inside?

Fair analysis by Nazim...I disagree though.....It will come down to Pacquiao's volume punching(or Mayweather's lack thereof) vs Mayweather's cleaner/crisper shots......Pacquiao will be hitting elbows, and arms--not really effective shots.....His connect % will be way down as well.....

Floyd will land a higher %, and will surprise some people by landing the harder more telling blows for the judges.....It will be interesting to see how Pacquiao would handle a fighter that has no rhythm at all, one of Floyd's overlooked attributes is he is not a pattern fighter...

Close by clear decision for Floyd....

This is why this fight will be fun for fans who appreciate the technical side of boxing. Floyd will do his best work on the outside and inside. Mid-range is like no man's land during World War I.

Then Manny will get broken down and maybe stopped if it stays in the inside. Manny sucks in the inside, but he's good at getting out
