He has become less agressive over the years, but he was agressive against Mosley and against Corley, Mitchell, and Zab, he was agressive more agrgresive against them then he normally is against other fighters. Floyd had the highest contact round of his career vs Corley
First of all, Mosley isn't a southpaw (are you serious with that?) And Floyd fought those guys how he normally fights. He hasn't All of a sudden become more aggressive to southpaws. Just total bull**** on your part...
thats not fact he 'hasn't' is a fact are you one of those maury povich mofos "my daddy ran away my mommy be takin crack so i didnt get an edumacation"??
Are you catching on to why I brought up Mosley. You said he has become less agressive and I agreed, but he was agresive against Mosley. Now please watch the fights again, becomes Floyd clearly is more agressive because when you fight southpaws, you have to get off first and let them react to you since orthodox fighters aren't used to seeing southpaw punches and you take away their advantage up close. Come on Lance watch the fights. Floyd has his hands high and is walking them down. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRRHsiVfJic&feature=related[/ame] Floyd is moving forward against Mitchell and trying to apply pressure to him
Exactly which is why Manny will give him hell. Floyd is at his best fighting backward and countering. The game is flipped fighting a southpaw. He's gotta get off first and be a little aggressive. He can't outfight Manny, and potshotting him isn't going to win him the fight. He'll be made to look like Clottey did. This is why Floyd won't fight him. He knows how much a pain in the ass it is to fight a southpaw, and Manny is an ATG.
I've never said Floyd is more or less susceptible to hooks from a southpaw... Just that he is susceptible to that punch... You're a Floyd fan, just watch some of his fights unbiased...
Yeah. This is why Team Floyd freaked out after the Cotto fight and constantly talk about how people aren't hurting Pac. The power pellets stuff, etc. Floyd came back because he knows he's bigger and longer than Pac and Floyd felt he could basically do a Marquez on Pacquiao -- just maul the smaller guy. The Cotto fight changed Floyd's mind, drastically. He's not sure if he can hurt Pacquiao now, or hurt him enough to keep Pacquiao off of him and win the number of points he would need to take the fight. Floyd is a defense-first fighter with a defense-first career: If he isn't positive he can beat you, he won't fight you. He's no longer sure he can beat Pacquiao, and thus the fight will never happen.
That's true to an extent. Manny will come at Floyd and that'll help Floyd out. The other southpaws he fought were counterpunchers and took full adavatange of being southpaw, but Manny is the agressor here and Floyd can still fight going backwards, but he has to be careful
I don't think it'll help Floyd out at all. Watch the Zab Judah fight. Anytime Zab got aggressive he was successful, and Floyd couldn't do anything but clam up into a shell. Floyd can't deal with the handspeed of a fast southpaw coming at those awkward angles. He's not used to it. Floyd doens't throw enough punches either, only pot shots, and his punch resistance isn't like a Josh Clottey who can keep absorbing shots all night.
atsch When we are talking about his agression vs. Southpaws, don't even bother trying to bring up Mosely. It's just pointless. And those vids show me nothing I haven't seen before. Nor do they even prove he's more aggressive NOW (as you said) then he was earlier. You're out of your league kid...
Pac being southpaw is just the icing on the cake... Stylistically Pac is all wrong for floyd.. Pac has every possible weapon that has caused Floyd problems in the past.. the best Floyd fans can come up with is defense, or a simple one-two... gimme a break..
