Whether or not Richardson meant that Wlad has NO CHIN or just a weak chin, in is opinion, it's still ultimately the point that he's relaying in that he's so technically sound that he's been able to rise above his fears of being potentially knocked out again, that he's able to fight the top level opposition without being hit, much less staggered...

 

yeah but you have people are agreeing with the quote and yet saying the opposite about wlad's chin. and again, yeah he doing great against the opposition. but does doing great against THIS opposition warrant a place with the greatest of all time? thats up to your own opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own.

Anytime someone says _____ belongs with or could have beaten ______ (from another era), you're sure to find plenty of ultimately invalid arguments as to why any certin opinion can or should be valid. lol. That's the name of the game... While I don't see Wlad being recognized anytime soon for being anything near what Ali was for boxing and the division, I do have to commend the man for being a true and dedicated champion, weak division or not. And I'd never just automatically say that Ali or Foreman would just walk all over him as I know what boxing is all about. Any man at any time can pull an upset out of nowhere, to the shock and awe of everyone who would be considered either naysayers or just boxing fans period. I can't waste my time and energy talking about things that are never going to happen anyway. Let's just agree that both men were terrific champions in their OWN era of boxing and should be recognized as such. No one better than the other in terms of what being a champion is all about. Fighting the best out there...

 

yeah, the only part of what he said was he belong with ali and holmes. its too premature, maybe wlad does end up being up there but what if he gets koed again? then people will say hes a bum again, just like they said after he got koed by sanders. But as for now, he the best the division has to offer but his career isnt done yet. lennox lewis had the same problem too, but it wasnt till after he retired that he was accepted as being one of the best, and even then he has quite a bit of detractors.

 

Richardson is right. Wladimir is on his way to being an ATG as long as he keeps cleaning out the HW division.
I don't think Wladimir has a great chin, it's close to average or below possibly, but he can still take some shots and win fights against the best in the HW division.

No he's not strange persay. He just gives what we call backhanded compliments. He dissed Wlad's chin, which many of us never thought was bad at all. I've always said his chin wasn't made of Glass. So Ruskull, you and CHEF need to stop ripping me off.

Wladimir will never be counted out. I'd bet my ESB account on that. His opponents can't even hit him due to his defense and footwork -- and if they do put him down, he just gets up and goes back to winning every round. :bbb

Good on Nazim for giving Wlad some credit. But Vitali deserves some too, just for different reasons. Wlad has the better skills, but Vitali has other things that he excels at.

 

Chagaev fits right in there with the 80's heavies that made Mike Tyson great.

 

What Chagaev-fight makes you believe that ? The only good win for Chagaev was the Valuev-fight, but even in that fight some had it still close. Other than that he looked pretty ordinary against better opposition. You can make an argument that he lost to Skelton and Virchis. Chagaev was no. 3 after the Klitschkos, but that only shows how poor the division is. Or would you say that Virchis and Skelton would be top dogs in the Tyson era ?
