NBC Sports: Curtis Stevens vs. Patrick Majewski & Thabiso Mchunu vs. Ola Durudola RBR

I am recording it on DVR and would rather not have any results spoiled, and most watching NBC Sports right now probably share that sentiment. (both cards are in direct conflict, both running from 10pm-midnight EST)

 

Round 6

Durodola is jabbing at Mchunu and hesitating on the outside as Mchunu melts under the jab to slip it and feints with big counter hooks. Durodola is trotting in behind the light double jab and hoping to catch Mchunu on the backfoot with a right uppercut. Mchunu crams it down with his right arm and executes some nimble footwork to circumvent Durodola and get away from the ropes, popping in a counter left downstairs.

You don't have to be very slick to make Diablo miss - often and badly.

...and the midget is slick.

 

Round 7

Durodola is hacking with his right falling in. Mchunu rolls backward into a corner, showing the southpaw version of the Philly shell, getting walked across the ring and blocking the long weak hammering combos of Durodola. Mchunu turns Durodola to get away from the corners and thrusting his right jab into Durodola's armpit, ducking the right hand of Durodola and placing a few lefts on the body.

Round 8

Durodola is pumping the left jab while trucking after Mchunu, at times breaking into a light jog after him. Mchunu is circling, pivoting and moving laterally, and countering with flash right jab combos to knock Durodola's left away. Left hands to the body falling in by Mchunu, tying up and the moving when broken up. Mchunu slips the jab with a roll of the head and cannonballs in with a left upper-hook before grabbing and releasing.

The unofficial scorecard of NBC Sports (I think it's Flores'?) has it 78-73 to Mchunu, giving Durodola the seventh and eighth.

 

Round 9

Durodola is becoming aggressive, stepping in and firing the jab and then putting together long pendulous body shots. Mchunu is countering with single line drive lefts and right hooks off the double and triple jab while moving up and down and side to side. Lots of clinches off misses and connects by both men.
