NBC Sports Fight Night: Gabriel Rosado vs. Sechew Powell RBR

Larry Holmes is asked about the fight so far, and then very surreptitiously about the role of the jab in modern boxing (in true troll-master fashion) by Chris Mannix.

"It started out kinda slow, but it's starting to pick up a little bit. Fans are getting into it, it's shaping up to be good.

THEY'RE NOT TEACHING THE JAB!! The most important thing in boxing is the left jab, it teaches you how to throw straight and keeps you on target! These guys today are not jabbing!! They throw right hands, left hooks. Jabs set it up, so you can get a guy out of there! :rant :fire"

Rosado is waiting on the outside, doing a lot more twitching than punching, and stepping flush into lead lefts when he does come forward. Powell is slinking back toward the ropes, drawing Rosado in, trying to create counter opportunities while sliding his feet back and watching like a hawk for spots to sharp shoot. Rosado steps in and lands a couple of nice straight rights with sudden forward surges. Better stuff by Rosado with his abrupt method of attack, but still losing the round on overall clean effective punches.
