    Powell gives Rosado credit, says he was bigger and stronger and exploited those facts and fought valiantly. He also credits his corner for giving him precise information on how to win (probably referring to them pleading with him not to lay on the ropes so much) and he regrets not listening to them. He doesn't feel his performance indicates he should pack it in and he fully intends to soldier on. He isn't unhappy with his performance and makes no excuses to take credit from Rosado.

    Good for him. I wish Kovalev well in his career and it's nice to see that he hasn't let the unfortunate conclusion of the Simakov fight impact his performance inside the ring. It would be completely understandable for some sort of let down to occur given what happened against Roman. (e.g. Gabriel Ruelas against Nelson)

    Sorry...that was last year. Early December 2011.

    Jesus, really? Seven months ago now? Feels like it just happened.

    My cat and faithful companion of over a dozen years had to be put down while Simakov was in his fatal three-day coma. (**** cancer) That was a horrible week, and it started with watching that man collapse in the ring on a Monday morning and having a sinking feeling of knowing what it meant...

    come on it's his 14th fight and he doesn't have much amateur experience. on the job learning. plus you can just look at it as a stay busy fight, as he's recently said in an interview he wants to fight about 6 times this year. surely a step up in competition is imminent

    When I first saw Sechew Powell, he looked like a James Toney who was fit and could move. Granted he was fighting a journeyman but I thought for sure he'd be up there with the elite.
