Thanks for posting this site up. Not sure why Walker beats Greb when they actually fought and Greb won.
You might have thrown darts.Lack of the past merits of the fighters.Silly I believe.. Example =mickey Walker lost to a fading Greb in 1925.Wasn't NCR aware of this well known fact? Harry Greb[my ultimate winner],tko's Tony Zale 14 rd...No way does tough Tony not survive a 15 round bout...A whipping yes, but Zale goes all the way... Bob Fitzimmons does not get kod by Ray Robinson in three...Prime Fitz at 160lbs,foughtthe strongest heavyweights and kod many...I make Fitz a favorite over Ray Robinson in primes.. He was so much larger than Robinson exceot for weight...
I have an old Ring mag that ran the results of this tourney and was Nat Fleischer ever pissed that they had Ketchel losing to Robinson. He was mad because he thought that simply couldn't happen. He may have been eloquent on paper, but make sure your opinion didn't cross his. I was reminded of an old bar in Chicago that used to run old fight films on 8mm. Two old guys ran it and some patron, not boisterously or brazenly, felt Robinson would beat Ketchel. So, they open-mindedly digested what he had to say, then they threw him out of the bar. My Dad and I looked at each other and said in unison, "Ketchel wouldn't have lasted 3 rounds with Robinson." But we kept it to ourselves and continued drinking and watching old fight films. With some people there is simply no arguing a point. Scartissue
