Unless he gets gets knocked down 6 times again Seriously though, that's not happening and N'dam boxes circles around if a rematch were to take place.
Who says he wont get knocked down 6 times again? Maybe Quillin keeps him down this time. I never understood peoples views on this fight. As if Quillin luckily managed to drop Ndam 6 times! Ive literally heard people say "well if N'dam hadnt been dropped 6 times, he could have won" Its insane
He would have, as he was clearly out boxing Quillin when he wasn't getting knocked on his ass. despite 3 10-7 rounds, Quillin only won by 8 points on all 3 cards. For me it's extremely unlikely that fight plays out that way a second time. More likely N'dam wins a decision, or a Quillin KO. I lean towards the former, especially after recent performances by Quillin.
Against Quillin, N’Jikam was dropped twice each in the fourth, sixth and 12th rounds but said he was not at 100 percent entering the fight. “I have an exlpanation as to why I lost to Quillin. Under normal circumstances, I would not have lost to Quillin but there were some problems that were there and that’s why I lost. In the weeks before the fight, I had six surgeries in my mouth because there was an infection,” said N’Jikam, who is trained by Mustapha Ouicher. “I was put to sleep and my promoter back then told me about the fight a month ahead of time and I only had one week of real training before the fight…even in the worst conditions, I never stopped fighting and I was not knocked out. I continued until the end. Quillin knows that if I were in better condition, that I would have knocked out Peter Quillin.”
But he DID knock him down 6 times!! You cant just wish away 6 friggin knock downs and pretend the fight would have turned out otherwise. ONLY won by 8 points? Do you hear yourself??
He did. I'm not saying his win was illegitimate. I'm not saying the fight was close, but for 6 knockdowns all to one guy the scores weren't exactly wide. Did you not see that fight? N'dam actually outboxed Quillin fairly easily for large portions of the fight, I don't see how it's unreasonable for him to win a decision if he can avoid a **** down of knockdowns. Not to mention that Quillin hasn't exactly looked great lately, I've been far more impressed with N'Dam in recent outings.
There were numerous instances in that fight where N'Dam kept trying to fight fire with fire after he'd been hurt and he inevitably wound up getting hurt or dropped again because he didn't back off and give himself time to recover from the initial shot (s) that hurt him. He could've won that had he fought with his brain and not his heart. I think the reason he fought so recklessly might have had something to do with him feeling like he had go that bit extra because he was the away fighter fighting in his opponent's 'backyard'.
The scoring in that fight was a total rip off. A travesty. On a par with Pirog-jacobs. In each case the US fighter was in receipt of totally biased judging,to the point of corruption. HNN v Quillin could easily have been scored a draw by neutral, fair , honest judges.
I suprised no one notices how gassed quillin was towards the end of that fight..even his trainer was getting on him as it looked quillin went in a little panic mode
