...I don't really have a translation for it other than that, he said in French that their "rage" was now 10 times worse than anticipated. He also said they would probably be left with nothing after all training costs are factored into the purse, that they would have to 'eat the belt'. Purely because they gambled! http://www.rds.ca/combat/boxe/le-cl...e-pour-affronter-david-lemieux-boxe-1.2408250 Oscar: "Hey Hassan, want 150K to fight Lemieux?" N'Dam: "Are you kidding? That's a title fight, I'll get a lot more via purse bid!" Oscar: "Very well then." Oscar shows up at the purse bid with two envelopes, a small bid and a 'winning' bid. N'Dam's promoter doesn't show up. Small bid wins, N'Dam is left with 51K while Lemieux gets an extra from GBP. :conf Will N'Dam come in angry and try to exchange with Lemieux? :smoke
Sadly, I also think that's the way to go for him. Quillin rematch, Jacobs... ...but I'm not writing him off that easily, he's got all kinds of potential to beat Lemieux. David said in an interview Tuesday night he is stronger than ever, through conditioning/training. He also said he was gonna try to take N'Dam's head off right out of the gate, but that he was "obviously going to take my time" if it doesn't happen in the first round.
You can't just come to "Murica" like you're a big star when you arent. He'd do well to stay on the outside and box instead of trying to go in with Lemiuex, that would be foolhardy to say the least
Beterbiev makes like 250k per fight and he just turned pro. N'Dam needs to jump on PBC train before Haymon runs out of money in couple of years :good This will be a very good win for David and will pave a way for GGG fight or unification with WBO champ.
I would think that David would take a showcase/easy title defense in Oct/Nov and take a Canelo or GGG fight in May next year... Oscar probably leaning more towards Canelo than GGG. In house fight, Canelo gets a come forward fighter for his first title fight at MW, etc. As for the WBO, unfortunately I think it'll be BJS then Quillin II for Andy. Good one, but there ain't no Mickey Ds in Montreal. N'Dam can drown his sadness in poutine if he so desires.
I don't understand why this fight is a PPV event in Canada.Quebec will buy this event to be sure, but the rest of Canada hasn't a clue who DL is.I get they want to tap into the Quebec market but in the long run wouldn't showcasing David to all of Canada on TSN draw a much bigger audiance and with David's fan friendly style -thus making him a must see attraction in the future?Just my opinion.
QC is the only province worth tapping into for boxing revenues, TSN doesn't care one bit about boxing where RDS and RDS2 show lots of fights for free, including Hopkins-Kovalev recently. As soon as it involves one of their own, Quebecers get hosed via PPV. Just the way it is. When was the last time a world title was contested in Canada, outside of QC? Molitor era?
